In the name of God Amen.
The last will and testament of Catharine Teare wife of William Teare
Loughcrout in the parish of Jurby being of perfect mind and memory at
the making thereof.
First I commit my soul to God and my body to a Christian burial. Secondly
I leave and bequeath to my daughter Christian wife of Thomas Kneale the sum
of ten pounds British as legacy to be paid at my decease. Thirdly I leave
and bequeath to my son John Teare the sum of ten pounds British, a cow to be
given him as legacy at my decease besides what he have in
hand.
Fourthly I leave and bequeath to my son Daniel Teare the sum of ten pounds
British as legacy to be paid him at my decease.
Fifthly I leave and bequeath to my son William Teare all my right and
title of that parcel of land known by the name of Croit ehfundail and a
feather bed with its clothes belonging to the same at my decease.
Sixthly I leave and bequeath to my son Thomas Teare all my right and
title of that parcel of land known by the name of Lheaney Daugherty to be
possessed by him at his father's decease and the sum of sixty pounds
British, a cow, and a feather bed with its clothes belonging to the same
to be given him at my decease.
Seventhly I leave and bequeath unto my daughter Catherine Teare all my right
and title of Croit Vargead and Lheaneygreagiby to be possessed by her at her
father's decease and one hundred pounds British, a cow, and a feather bed
with its clothes belonging to the same said to be given her
at my decease.
Eighthly I leave and bequeath unto loving husband William Teare my right
and title of the black mare.
Ninthly I leave and bequeath all my clothes equally between my two daughters
Christian and Catharine.
Tenthly and lastly I constitute nominate and appoint my son William and
my daughter Catharine whole and sole heirs and executors of all the rest of
my goods and effects moveable and immoveable of whatsoever kind or nature
they be  - to be enjoyed by them as their right  and property and I do debar
and exclude any other person or persons who would sue to the contrary hereof
with two shillings and six pence legacy this the twenty first day of
December one thousand eight hundred  and thirty nine. Catharine Teare my x
