The last will and testament of Anne Kanneen alias Kissack of 
the parish of Andreas who have departed this life May 10th 1844.  
And previous to her departure being of sound and perfect mind, 
Memory And Understanding published and decreed the following 
to be her last will and testament in the presence of the s
ubscribing witnesses in form and manner following - 

Itm.  First.  She commended her soul to God and her body 
unto Christian Burial.
Itm.  She left and bequeathed unto her beloved husband William 
Kanneen her whole right and title of the Lands and houses during 
his life time.
Itm.  She left and bequeathed unto his daughter Mary the sum 
of Twenty Pounds as Legacy.
Itm.  She left and bequeathed unto her son Thomas the sum of 
Ten Pounds as Legacy
Itm.  She left and bequeathed unto her son George the sum of 
Ten Pounds as Legacy.
Itm.  She left and bequeathed unto her two sons namely Allick 
and William Five Pounds each as legacy.
Itm.  She left and bequeathed unto her son Charles her whole 
right and title of and unto all the Lands and buildings thereon 
erected to be posesed by him at the death of her husband provided 
that he will pay or cause to be paid the whole of the foregoing 
legacies at the time when he possesses the lands and lastly she 
nominated Constituted Appointed and ordained her beloved husband 
William Kaneen whole and sole executor and residuary legatee of 
all her goods chattels and effects moveable and immoveable real 
or personal of what kind nature or denomination sacred.

Published and declared in presence of subscribing witnesses 
and written this 17th day of May 1844

At a Chapter Court holden at Ramsey 31th May 1844.

The executor is sworn in Court in form of law and hath 
gived pledges for the payment of debts and legacies namely 
William Skinner of Laseyane and William Kanneen of 
Ballasan both in the Parish of Kirk Andreas
		Probatum est

Thomas Kaneen a legatee named in  the foregoing will of 
Ann Kaneen of Andreas decd appeared personally at the 
Episcopal Registry and acknowledge to have received from 
Alexander Kaneen and Eldest surviving brother (Charles 
being dead) the sum of ten pounds being the amt of legacy 
bequeathed him in and by said will and made a charge on 
certain houses and lands in Andreas – And he the sd 
Thos does herby exonerated acquit and discharge the sd 
Alexander his heirs execrs Adminrs and asignes of the 
same and of every part thereof – 
As witness his subscription this 12th day of April 1848. –

Whereas by the last Will and Testament of Ann Kaneen of 
Andreas deceased certain legacies were left and bequeathed 
to several of her children in the sd Will particularly 
named which appear to have been paid or otherwise discharged, 
save and except a legacy of ten pounds to George Kaneen, 
and five pounds to William Kaneen, who departed this life 
previous to the death of William Kaneen his father who was 
appointed and sworn executor of the will of Ann Kaneen – 

And whereas a certain Deed of Agreement and sale was 
executed by and between Alexander Kaneen, and the afsd 
William Kaneen bearing date the 4th day of April 1848 – 
by which the Sd Alexander sells and conveys to the William 
Kaneen a certain parcel of intact land situate in Andreas 
called the “Longhan”, in consideration of which sale the 
sd William Kaneen covenants and engages to pay the legacies 
then unpaid, amounting as above stated to the sum of thirty 
five Pounds, and which sd sum is, in and by the sd deed of 
the 4th of April 1848 made a lien and charge on the sd 
lands thereby unto, until the sd legacies or of thirty five 
pounds be paid and discharged, as by the sd d appointment 
and late on exercise thereto may more fully appear –

And whereas the sd William Kaneen did by deed dated the 
13th day of Jany 1858, give grant settle and estate to 
and upon his son George Kaneen, the sd lands and premises 
called the Laughan reserving to himself the one half or moeity 
of the Dwelling House and the lands on which it stands as 
by this deed of the 13th Jany 1858 may also appear 
and whereas the sd William Kaneen sometimes in the year 1858 
departed this life having previously made and published his will  ??? 
whereof he appointed the sd George Kaneen his son and Mary Ann 
his daughter executors – 
And whereas the sd George Kaneen has now sold and conveyed 
all his right title and interest, to, and in the sd dwelling 
house and lands call the Laughan to Philip Kelly of the 
parish of Andreas, who is desirous of freeing and discharging 
the sd promises plan any claim, or liabilities, or pretended 
claim or liability thereon, or thereupon, under the will of 
the afsd Ann Kaneen, or under any other deed or paper writing 
by any party heretofore  deposed or executed.  
Now these present witnesses that they the sd  George Kaneen 
and Mary Ann Kaneen do acknowledge that they are fully paid 
and satisfied the amount of their respective legacies left to 
them in and by the will of their mother Ann Kaneen and they 
do hereby acquit release and discharge the sd Philip Kelly and 
the lands and premises purchased by him as afsd called the 
Laughan and all and every other persons whomsoever from all 
further claims or demand, on account of or under the sd will 
of Ann Kaneen – 
In witness whereof they the sd George Kaneen and Mary Ann Kaneen 
subscribe their names hereto this 4th day of February 1858 –
