The humble petition 
of Mary Creer of the
parish of Maughold
and John Creer a minor
by Mrs Jane Creer his
mother and ???? friend
also of the said parish.

Sheweth that on the 7th day of November instant
William Creer of Rheinabb the father of your
petitioners Mary Creer and John Creer and husband
of your petitioner Jane Creer departed this life
but fist duly made and executed his last
will and testament whereof he appointed his
daughter and son your petitioners Mary
Creer and John Creer joint executor and executrix.
That the said John Creer is a minor and the
said Jane Creer is appointed his guardian under
this said will.
That your petitioners are desirous to have
probate granted of the said will and petitioners
sworn to execute the same
whereof your petitioners
pray a hearing hereof
and that your Worship
may be pleased to grant
probate of the said will
and appoint your
petitioners Executrix and
Executor of the same 
in form of law and
they will pray.

Ordered that this petition do come on to be
heard at a Court to be holden at Ramsey
on the 27th day of Nov instant.
Whereof all proper parties and
persons to have due notice

At an Eccl court held in Ramsey the 27th
Nov 1846

Upon naming this petition in presence of the parties and
upon examining FJD Lamotte Esq and Robt Joughin
witnesses to the will and codicil thereto of Wm Creer dec
I am of opinion the same have been duly proved and
that probate ought to be granted thereon as prayed
for and the same is therefore hereby ordered
adjudged and decreed accordingly.

This is the last joint will and testament
of us William Creer and Jane Creer his wife
of Rheinabb in the parish of Maughold
who being mindful of our mortality do
proceed to make this our joint will and
testament in manner following:-
We commend our souls to God and our
bodies to Christian burial - 
We leave devise and bequeath to our son
ad heir John Creer all our purchased
lands situate in the parish of Maughold
part of the quarterland of Rheinabb but in
case of the death of our son John Creer
before he attains the age of twenty one
years without lawful issue or in case
he die after he attains the said age without
having lawful issue at the time of his 
death then these our said purchased lands
are hereby devised to our daughter 
Mary Creer to hold unto her and her heirs
and assigns -
We leave devise and bequeath to our said
daughter Mary Creer all and singular
our concern of dwelling house yard and
concern situate in the town of Douglas
which was purchased from William Gick
and at present is in the occupation of Jonathan
Cain as tenant hereby meaning and
intending to devise to our said daughter
Mary Creer the whole of our property
situate in the said town of Douglas to have
and to hold unto her heirs and assigns
forever - 
We hereby nominate constitute and
appoint our said son John Creer and
our daughter Mary Creer joint executor
and executrix of this our will and testament
and residuary legatees of all our goods
chattels cash and effects of what nature
and kind soever to be divided share and
share alike between them - 
We leave devise and bequeath to our said 
daughter Mary Creer the sum of thirty pounds
sterling as legacy and which sum of thirty 
pounds she is to have out from our personal
estate before the residue is divided between herself
and her brother the said John Creer.
we leave, devise and bequeath to the vicar and
wardens of the said parish of Maughold the
sum of thirty pounds sterling to be by them
and their successors in the said office laid
out at interest on good landed security
and pay the interest thereof to our sister
Ann Cowell widow of John Cowell during
her life and upon her death apply the
annual interest thereof to the relief of the
poor persons of the said parish forever.
We further ordain and appoint that the 
survivor of us shall be the sole guardian
over our said son John Creer during his
minority and be sworn Executor or Executrix
of this our will in trust for our said sons
benefit with our said daughter Mary Creer.
In witness whereof we have hereunto subscribed
our names this 27th day of February 1846,

This paper writing is a codicil to the last
joint will and testament of William Creer
of Rheinabb in the parish of Maughold and
Jane Creer his wife bearing date the 27th day
of February 1846 - 
We leave devise and bequeath to our daughter
Mary Creer all our purchased lands situate
in the parish of Maughold part of the quarterland
of Rheinabb to hold to her and her heirs and
assigns but in case our son John
Creer shall live to attain the age of thirty
years and shall upon attaining the said
age demand possession of the said lands from
our said daughter Mary Creer her heirs and
assigns then and in that case our said
daughter Mary Creer her heirs and assigns
is under arm to deliver and give up our said
purchased lands to our said son to hold to
him in terms of the bequest thereof made
to him in and by our said will of the 27th Feb
1846 aforesaid hereby satisfying and confirming
our said will in every other particular but
directing the bequest of our purchased lands
thereby made
to our son John Creer to be only contingent
to the codicil - witness our subscription the
10th day of April 1846	 William Creer

At an Eccl court held in Ramsey the 27th Nov 1846
FJD Lamotte Esq and Robert Joughin the subscribing
witnesses to the foregoing paper writing and to a codicil
thereto dated the 10th April 1847 purporting to be the
last will and testament with a codicil thereto of the testator
Wm Creer having made oath on the Holy Evangelist that the
said Wm Creer when of sound mind memory and understanding
duly signed and executed the said will and codicil in their presence.
The Executrix Mary Creer and Jane Creer the m0other of the Exor
John Creer who is a minor are therefore sworn well and truly to
fulfil and execute the said will and codicil according to law
and pay all just debts legacies and funeral expenses so far forth
as the goods will extend and the law bind them and to return to
the Archdeacons Registry a full true and perfect inventory of
the same with an account of their acts and proceedings in
the promises when thereunto lawfully required and the said Jane
Creer is sworn guardian and supervisor over the said minor
John Creer and to return to the proper registry an account of all
his acts and proceedings in the promises when thereunto lawfully
required and to these ends the said Executrixes have given 
pledges namely the Robert Joughin and Robt Kelly who
have executed a bond to that effect in presence of the

At a court holden at
Ramsey on the 2nd day of November 1908.
The annexed papers writing dated
respectively the 27th day of February 1846
and the 10th day of April 1846 having
been proved on the 27th day of November 
1846 as the last will and testament
and a codicil of William
Creer late of Rhenabb in the parish 
of Maughold deceased and probate
thereof granted to Mary Creer a
daughter of the testator and Jane Creer 
the mother of John Creer a son of the
testator who was then a minor under the
age of twenty one years and it this
day appearing that the said Mary 
Creer & Jane Creer have both departed
this life without having fully administered
the personal estate and effects of the
said William Creer deceased and the 
said John Creer having also departed
this life without having taken probate of
the said will, this court can therefore
grant administration de bonis now with
the said will and codicil annexed
of the personal estate and effects of 
the said William Creer deceased to
Walter Craine of Sunnymount in
the town of Ramsey Advocate Clerk
and accordingly he is sworn well and
faithfully to administer the personal
estate and effects of the said William
Creer so left unadministered as aforesaid
in terms of his said Will and
Codicil and according to law
