In the name of God Amen.
I Thomas Teare of Silverbourne in the parish of Kirk Malew being of
sound and disposing mind memory and understanding do make publish and
declare this paper writing as and for my last will and testament in
manner following.
First I commit my soul to God and my body to Christian burial.
I leave and bequeath to my son William Teare all my stock and horses and
cattle the whole of my crop and farming utensils and also all my
household goods of every description save and except the beds and
bedding.  On this express condition that he will gvie my executrixes a
full acquittal and discharge for the amount of a legacy of forty pounds
bequeathed to him by the will of his late grandfather William Taggart
deceased the same having been already paid to him but for which I have
neglected to take his receipt to cancel the said will.  Also an acquittal
and or discharge for any claim he may have under the will of my late
wife Catherine Teare deceased or otherwise to my real and personal estate
save and except to the  lands and premises at Silverbourne.  And
in case he shall refuse to give such acquittals and discharges as aforesaid
then and in that case he shall forfeit all rights or claim under this my
will to stock, crop, farming utensils, and household goods aforesaid.
I leave and bequeath to my said son William the sum of twenty shillings
as legacy.  I leave and bequeath to my grandson Thos Teare my watch.
I leave devise and bequeath to William Shimmin son of Mr William
Shimmin (Grenaby) one half of a field being a small parcel of intack land
situate at Wigan in the parish of Kirk Malew the same being bounded on every
side thereof by the lands of my nephew William Teare to have and
to hold unto the said William Shimmin with all ways waters
watercourses easements hereditaments and  appurtenances to the same
belonging or appertaining  from the day of my death forever.
I leave and bequeath to my daughters Isabella Teare and Catherine Welch wife
of John Welch of Ballakaigen the whole of the beds and bedding to
me belonging in my dwelling house.  Also all my bonds, notes, cash, and
credits.  And I do hereby appoint them joint executrixes and residuary
legatees of this my last will and testament.  Revoking any will or wills
by me heretofore made and leaving any other claimant to any my estate and
effects the sum of six pence as legacy.
In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name this 7th day of
December 1846.

At a Chapter Court held in Castletown 25th May 1847.
John Welch and Catherine Teare are now in court in form of law and have
given pledges for the payment of debts and legacies namely John
Shimmin and John Kewn who have executed the usual bond in presence of the
