65     Andreas
This is the last will and testament of me Mary Kewin of Close E Kewin in
the parish of Andreas being of sound mind and memory at the making and
publishing hereof.
First I commit my soul to God and my body to Christian burial.
Secondly I leave and bequeath to my son Wm Kewin that parcel of purchased
land to me belonging situate in the parish of Jurby called
Croit Wade being a part of the quarterland of Ballachurry and Ballakneale
- he to pay to my daughter Jane wife of John Skinner the sum of one hundred
pounds when he possesses the said land.
Thirdly I leave and bequeath to the interest of the sum of two hundred
pounds being this day secured upon certain houses and lands in the town
of Ramsey by Bond and Security passed by Thos Stephens and wife to me to my
daughter Catharine who is weak mind and incapable of taking care
of herself together with a further provision hereinafter made for her.
Fourthly I leave and bequeath to my daughter Mary wife of William
Garrett that parcel of intack land to me belonging situate in the parish
of Jurby called Close Quaill to have and to hold the same to her and her
heirs executors administrators and assigns.  And I leave to her the
principal sum of the aforesaid Bond and Security for two hundred pounds
after the death of my daughter Catharine before mentioned and I do will and
direct that my said daughter Mary shall take the care and charge of my said
daughter Catharine during her natural life time.
Fifthly I leave and bequeath to my son Thomas Kewin all the rest of my
purchased lands (excepting that parcel called Close e Chemnally in the
parish of Lezayre he to pay as hereinafter mentioned the sum of one hundred
and twenty pounds vizt sixty pounds which I now will and direct
him to pay the said sum of one hundred twenty pounds or the interest thereof
yearly to be paid by my son Thomas aforesaid towards the
support of my daughter Catharine the principal sum to be paid and
applied as hereinafter mentioned vizt sixty pounds thereof to my
daughter Jane twenty pounds thereof to my daughter Mary and the remaining
forty pounds thereof to my son William and in case he my said son Thomas
refuses to pay the said sum of one hundred and twenty pounds or disputes
this my will I leave the purchased lands aforesaid
left to him to my two daughters and my son William - they to pay to my son
Thomas the sum of  one hundred pounds.
Sixthly I leave to my granddaughter Jane Skinner that parcel of intack
land situated in Lezaire called Close E Chunneally to be possessed by her
at and upon my decease to hold the same to her and her heirs executors
administrators and assigns.
Seventhly I leave and bequeath all the rest residue and remainder of my
goods cash chattels and effects to my two daughters Jane and Mary equally
between them share and share alike and I nominate constitute
and appoint my aforesaid two daughters last mentioned whole and sole joint
executrixes of this my last will and testament and it is to be understood
that the legacy herein before mentioned to my children severally is to be in
full discharge of whatever legacies were left them
by their father deceased.  In witness whereof I the said Mary Kewin do
hereunto subscribed my name or mark this 2nd day of Feb 1847.

John Skinner and Wm Garrett sworn executors in right of their wives
with pledges Thomas Kewin and John Corkill.

John Skinner and Jane Skinner rec'd &pound100 20 Feb 1849.

Know all men by these presents that William Kewin of the parish of
Jurby doth hereby acknowledge that he has received from John James Kewin a
minor by Thomas Quayle and William Garrett his guardians the
sum of forty pounds being in full discharge to that amount left to him
the said William Kewin in by the last will and testament of his mother
Mary Kewin bearing date the 2nd day of February 1847 being his share of the
sum of one hundred and twenty pounds mentioned in the said will the interest
of which was payable to Catharine Kewin the  testatoršs
daughter for life and who is now dead and the said William Kewin doth acquit
release and discharge the said John James Kewin his heirs
executors and assigns and all persons and parties concerned or interest
in the said minors property from all further claim under the said will so
far as respects the said sum of forty pounds and he doth desire and
direct that the said legacy be and stand cancelled on the registry this
the 29 day of December 1866.  William Kewin his x mark

Know all men by these present that Mary Garrett als Kewin widow of William
Garret late of the parish of Andreas deceased doth hereby acknowledge that
she has received from John James Kewin a minor by Thomas Quayle and William
Garrett his guardians the sum of twenty
pounds being in full discharge of that amount left to her the said Mary
Garrett in and by the last will and testament of Mary Kewin bearing date the
2nd day of Feb 1847 being her share of the sum of one hundred and twenty
pounds the interest of which was payable to the testatoršs daughter
Catharine during her life time and who is now dead and the said Mary Garrett
doth acquit release and discharge the said John James
Kewin his heirs and assigns and all persons and  parties concerned or
interested in his property from all further claim or demand so far as
respectively the said sum of twenty pounds and she doth desire and direct
that the said legacy be and stand cancelled on the Registry. Witness her
name subscribed hereto this the 29th day of December 1866.  Mary Garrett her
x mark.
