Eleanor Kewley   31   Lonan   1850

At a Chapter Court, holden at
Douglas on the 17th day of May 1850.

Eleanor Kewley Wife of William Kewley of the Parish of
Kirk Lonan late of Douglas having departed this life on or about 
the twenty eighth day of January last past, Intestate; and
this Court having intelligence thereof, that (for the preservation of the rights
of all persons concerned) Decreed William Kewley her
husband sole Administrator
of all and singular the Goods, Rights, Credits, Chattels, and
Effects, moveable and immoveable whatsoever of the said Deceadent.  And
therefore(?) the said William Kewley is 
thereupon sworn, well and truly to Administer the same, to pay all the Intestate’s 
just Debts, so far forth as the Goods will extend and the Law bind him; and return into
the Episcopal Registry a full, true and perfect Inventory thereof, and an
accurate Account of all Transactions, touching the same when thereunto lawfully required.

And to these ends he the said William Kewley hath given Pledges
in form of Law, namely John Skillicorn Junr. and
Robert Lawson who have executed a 
Bond to that effect bearing equal date
herewith.

WHEREAS the Ecclesiastical Court of this Diocese hath this day granted Letters of Administration
of all  and singular the Good & Effects of Eleanor Kewley late of
Douglas deceased, to William Kewley her husband
in trust for the next of kin therein named.

AND WHEREAS Robert Lawson of the Bridge
in the Parish of Braddan and John Skillicorn
of Ballacreech in the Parish of Onchan have agreed 
to become pledges to the said William Kewley for the due administration 
of the said Estate according to law.

Therefore know all men by these Presents, that we, the said Robert Lawson
and John Skillicorn hereby bind and oblige
ourselves  and our Executors and Administrators, as pledges to the said William
Kewley for the due and faithful administration of the goods
and effects of the said deceased according to law.  And in his default we bind ourselves and our Executors
and Administrators to be answerable to all parties interested in the said Estate, or the Administration thereof.
Witness our subscriptions this 17th day of May 1850.
