To His Worship Thomas Arthur Corlett
Esq. Vicar General in and for this
Isle.

The humble petition of Thomas
Kelly

Sheweth,
	That Eleanor Corkill of the town of Douglas
	Widow ...... her bond and security 
	to Thomas Kelly for the sum of fifty
	pounds bearing interest dated the 13th
	November, 1816.

	That the said Thomas Kelly did by ......
	dated the 9th August 1831, assign the
	said bond and security to Ann Corkill
	now Kelly wife of your petitioner.

	That the said Eleanor Corkill has for
	some years been deceased, and the
	amount of the said bond and security
	with a large arrear of interest & expenses
	is due to petitioner.

	That as ................. of the said Eleanor
	Corkill’s estate has been appointed by
	the Ecclesiastical Court and it is 
	necessary that some fit and proper
	person should be appointed and sworn
	to administer to her estate in order
	to your petitioner suing for the 
	amount of the said bond and security.
	That William Corkill is her son and next of kin.

Therefore your petitioner prays a
hearing of this petition and
that your Worship may be
pleased to appoint and swear
some fit and proper person
administrator of the said Eleanor
Corkill’s estate.
And your Petitioner will pray.

Ordered that this petition be heard
at Castletown on Friday next
whereof all proper parties to have
due notice.

At an Eccl. Court held in Castle Town the 12th
April 1850.

Upon hearing this Petition after notice to parties and it appearing
that Eleanor Corkill in this Petition named departed this life some
time ago intestate leaving issue Ann Rigg wife of Thomas Rigg
and Wm. Corkill who are Decreed sole Admors. of all and singular
the Goods Rights Credits Chattels and Effects of the sd. deceased.
And Thomas Clucas is sworn well and truly to administer the
sd. Estate to pay all just debts and funeral expenses so far
forth as the Goods will extend and the law bind him and to 
return to the Episcopal Registry a full true and perfect
Inventory of the sd. Estate with an accurate account of his
acts and proceedings in the premises when thereunto
lawfully required and to these ends he has given pledges
namely the sd. Thos. Rigg and John Bridson who have entered into
the usual Bond in presence of the Court.
					Decretum est.

WHEREAS the Ecclesiastical Court of this Diocese hath this day granted administration of all
and singular the Estate & Effects of Elr. Corkill late of
Douglas deceased, to Thomas Clucas in trust for Thos.
Rigg in right of his wife Ann Rigg and Wm. Corkill only children
and next of kin of the deceased.

AND WHEREAS John Bridson of Ballafairant
in the Parish of Malew and Thomas Rigg
of Castle Town in the Parish of Malew have agreed
to become pledges to the said Thomas Clucas for the due adminstration
of the said Estate according to law.

Therefore know all men by these Presents, that we, the said John Bridson
and Thomas Rigg hereby bind and oblige
ourselves and our Executors and Administrators, as pledges to the said Thomas Clucas
for the due and faithful administration of the goods
and effects of the said deceased according to law.  And in his default we bind ourselves and our Executors
and Administrators to be answerable to all parties interested in the said Estate, or the Administration thereof.
Witness our subscriptions this 12th day of April 1850.

By virtue of an order granted on the peition of Thos.
Rigg by the Worshipful T.A. Corlett Vicar General
I have charged William Corkill of Douglas as the
next of kin of Elenor Corkill to appear before
his Worship at a Court to be holden at Castletown
on Friday next by 10 Clock in the forenoon when
called to answer the suit and petition of the said
Petitioner this the 9th April 1850.
