Robert Kelly Lonan 1850 To the Worshipful Thomas Arthur Corlett Vicar General The humble petition of John Kelly of the Parish of Bride and William Kelly of the Parish of Lonan. Sheweth That in or about the year 1828 your petitioner’s brother Robert Kelly of the parish of Lonan departed this life intestate and without issue leaving your petitioner and Jane Skillicorn of Lonan Widow James Kelly of Douglas Thomas Kelly of Douglas Margaret Creech of Maughold Widow and Ann Quayle wife of William Quayle of the Town of Douglas the brothers and sisters and next of kin of the said Robert Kelly entitled to his personal estate. That administration of the estate of the said Robert Kelly has not yet been granted your petitioners therefore pray a hearing of this petition and that your Worship may be pleased to grant Administration of the estate of the said Robert Kelly unto your Petrs. or some other proper person and your petitioners will pray. Ordered that this petition do come on to be heard at an Eccl. Court to be holden at Ramsey on Friday the 22nd March next(?) whereof all proper parties and persons to have due notice. Given this 28th Feby. 1850. T.A. Corlett At an Eccl. Court held in Ramsey the 22nd March 1850. Upon hearing this petition in presence of the parties or their advocates and it appearing that Robert Kelly of the Parish of KK Lonan Bachelor departed this life some considerable(?) time ago Intestate and without issue leaving John Kelly, Wm. Kelly, Jas. Kelly, Thos. Kelly, Anne Quayle wife of Wm. Quayle, Margt. Creech, and Jane Skillicorn his brothers and sisters and next of kin him surviving all of whom are therefore Decreed sole Admors. of all and singular the Goods Rights Credits Chattels and Effects of the sd. Deceased, and John Skillicorn of the sd. Parish having been recommended by the majority of the sd. next of kin as a fit and proper person to be sworn to administer the sd. Estate and the sd. John Skillicorn is therefore sworn well and truly to administer the same, according to law, to pay all just debts, and other expenses of the deceased so far forth as the Goods and Effects will allow and the law bind him and to return to the Episcopal Registry a full true and perfect Inventory of the same with an accurate account of his acts and proceedings in the Premises when thereunto lawfully required and to these ends he has given pledges namely John Kelly of Ballagarrett in Bride and Wm. Kelly of Ballaragh in KK Lonan who have entered into the usual Bond in presence of the Court. Decretum est. T.A. Corlett Know all men, by these Presents, that We, John Kelly in the Parish of Bride and Wm. Kelly of Ballaragh in the Parish of KK Lonan are held and firmly bound to Robt. John Lord Bishop of Sodor and Mann, and his Successors, in the Sum of One hundred pounds British; to the Payment whereof well and truly to be made unto him the said Lord Bishop, and his Successors, we bind Ourselves, our Heirs, Executors, and Administrators, jointly and severally, by these Presents. Witness our Subscriptions, this 22nd day of March 1850. WHEREAS the ECCLESIASTICAL COURT of this Island hath this Day granted Administration of all and singular the Goods and Effects of Robert Kelly deceased, to John Skillicorn in trust for John Kelly, Wm. Kelly, Jas. Kelly Thomas Kelly, Ann Quayle wife of Wm. Quayle Margt. Creech & Jane Skillicorn, brothers and sisters and next of kin of the sd. deceased. NOW THE CONDITION of the above Obligation is such, that if the said John Skillicorn shall well and truly administer the Estate and Effects of the said Robert Skillicorn [should read Kelly] deceased; and shall in all Things relating thereto conform to the Laws of this Isle, the Orders of the Ecclesiastical Courts thereof, and the Oath of Administrator which he hath this Day taken, then the foregoing Obligation to be void, otherway to be and remain in full Force and Virtue. Kelly by the Worshipful TA Corlett vicar general I have charged Thos Kelly James Kelly Wm Quayle and left charge for Ann Quayle his wife all as the next of kin of Robt. Kelly to appear before his worship at a Court to be holden at Ramsey on the 22nd Instant by 10 o Clock in the fore noon when called to answer the suit and Petition of the said petitioners this 2nd March 1850.
