John Cowin  32  Onchan  1850

At a Chapter Court, holden at
Douglas on the 17th day of May 1850.

John Cowin of the Parish of 
Onchan, and Town of Douglas, having departed this life on or about
the Seventh day of March last past Intestate; and
this Court having received intelligence thereof, hath (for the preservation of 
the rights of all persons concerned) Decreed William Cowin said
deceadents only child sole Administrator
of all and singular the Goods, Rights, Credits, Chattels, and
Effects, moveable and immoveable whatever of the said Deceadent.  And
Sarah Cowin the said deceadents widow is
in Trust for the said William Cowin
thereupon sworn, well and truly to Administer the same, to pay all the Intestate’s
just Debts, so far forth as the Goods will extend and the Law bind; and return into
the Episcopal Registry a full, true and perfect Inventory thereof, and an
accurate Account of all Transactions, touching the same when thereunto lawfully required.
And to these ends she the said Sarah Cowin hath given Pledges
in form of Law, namely Robert Cowin Senior and
Robert Cowin junior who have executed 
a Bond to that effect bearing equal
date herewith.

WHEREAS the Ecclesiastical Court of this Diocese hath this day granted Letters 
of Administration of all and singular the Goods & Effects of John Cowin late 
of Onchan deceased, to Sarah Cowin his Widow
in trust for the next of kin of said Deceadent
therein named.

AND WHEREAS Robert Cowin of Ballachrink 
in the Parish of Onchan and Robert Cowin Jnr.
of Douglas in the Parish of Braddan, have agreed
to become pledges to the said Sarah Cowin for the due administration 
of the said Estate according to law.

Therefore know all men by these Presents, that we, the said Robert Cowin
and Robert Cowin hereby bind and obliged
ourselves and our Executors and Administrators, as pledges to the said Sarah
Cowin for the due and faithful administration of the goods
and effects of the said deceased according to law.  And in her default we bind 
ourselves and our Executors and Administrators to be answerable to all partied 
interested in the said Estate, or the Administration thereof.
Witness our subscriptions this 17th day of May 1850.
