   This is the joint last will and
   testament of me William Lawson (labourer)
   of Queen Hithe Street in the Town of
   Castletown and Ann Lawson my wife.
First. We commend our souls to Almighty
   God and our body's to a Christian
   burial.
Secondly. I William Lawson do nominate
   constitute and appoint my loving
   and affectionate wife the case I first
   depart this life whole and sole Executrix
   of all my wordly goods and effects both
   moveable and immovable of what
   kind or nature soever whether money
   goods houses or lands. And I Ann Lawson
   do nominate constitue and appoint
   my loving and affectionate husband
   William Lawson whole and sole Exectutor
   in case I first depart this life
   of all my moneys, goods chattels and
   effects of what kine or nature sover.
   In testamong whereof we the said William
   Lawson and Ann Lawson do both
   agreeably singly and jointly subscribe
   our names unto this our last joint
   will and testament this twentyfourt
   day of March one thousand eight
   hundred and forty nine.

         At a Chapter Court holden at
         Castle Town on the 9th day of May 1851.
John Bell and Thomas Clucas the subscribing witnesses
to the foregoing paper writing purporting to be the Will
of William Lawson deceased - having made Oath
on the Holy Evangilists tht said William Lawson the
Testator when of sound and disposing mind memory
and understanding duly signed and executed the
same in their presence as and for his last will and
Testament - Ann Lawson the survivor and
Executrix therein named is therefore sworn
well and truly to fulfil and execute said Will
accoriding to Law - to pay all just debts, legacies
and funeral expences of the testator so far
forth as the goods and effects will extend
and the law bind her, to return to the
Archdeacon's Registry a full true and perfect
inventory of said estate with an accurate
account of her acts and proceeeding in the
premises when thereunto lawfully required
and to these ends she hath given pledges
namely Edward Lawson and Thomas
Clucas who have executged a Bond to
that effect bearing equal date herewith.
