19 Lezayre 1853 To his Worshipful Thomas Arthur Corlett Vicar General. The humble petition of Christopher Clark of the parish of Michael Sheweth: That Edmund Dougherdy and Ann Dougherdy otherwise Clark his wife and daughter of your petitioner have lately departed this life leaving their only child Ann Dougherdy a minor of the age of fifteen years entitled to their real and personal estates and it is essentially necessary that some proper persons should be appoint guardian and supervisors over the said minor and administrators in trust of the personal estate of the said Edmund Dougherdy. Wherefore your petitioner prays a hearing of this petition and that your Worship may be pleased to swear such two proper persons as the said Ann Dougherdy may choose guardians and supervisors over her and administrators in trust of the personal estates of the said Edmund Dougherdy. Ordered that this petition do come on to be heard at a court to be holden at Ramsey on Saturday this day. Whereof all proper parties and persons to have due notice Given this 9th April 1853 T.A. Corlett At a Special Eccl Court held in Ramsey the 9th April 1853. Upon hearing this petition in presence of the parties or their advocates and it appearing that Edmund Dougherty late of Lezayre some time ago departed this life intestate leaving issue his only child Anne Dougherty who is thereupon decreed sole administratrix of all and singular the goods rights credits chattels and effects of the said deceased and being a minor at her request Christopher Clark the petitioner and John Killip are sworn guardians and supervisors over the said minor and also well and truly to administer the estate and effects of the said deceased according to law to pay all just debts and funeral expenses of the decease so far forth as the goods will extend and the law bind them and to return to the Episcopal Registry of this diocese a full true and perfect inventory of the same with an accurate account of their acts and proceedings in the premises when their unto lawfully required, and to these ends they have given pledges namely Thomas Cannell and Wm Radcliffe who have executed the usual bond.
