I Robert Cannon of Peeltown is complaining poorly but sound and
perfect in mind and memory.
Doeth this his last will and testament.
First he commits his soul to God and his body to Christian burial.
He leave and bequeath to his daughter Margaret the sum of twenty pounds
British but she is not to recover the said sum till she will arrive the age
of 24 years.
Lastly I nominate and appoint my beloved wife executrix of all the rest
of my goods and effects moveable and immoveable being of what kind soever
and debar any other that will cleave further right to my goods
with 2 shilling 6 pence legacy bearing date the 2nd of March 1837.

At a Chapter Court holden in Kirk Michael on the 26th day of May 1853. John
Crellin one of the subscribing witness to the foregoing paper
writing purporting to be the will of Robert Cannon deceased having made oath
on the Holy Evangelists that said Robert Cannon the testator when
of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding duly signed and
executed the same in his presence and also in presence of John Crellin
the other subscribing witness thereto as and for his last will and testament
and Margaret Cannon the executrix therein named having also departed this
life - Administration with the said will annexed is
committed and granted to Margaret Kelly widow their only child who is
therefore sworn well and truly to administer the goods rights credits
chattels and effects of said testator according to law - to pay all just
debts legacies and funeral expenses of said testator so far forth as the
goods and effects will extend and the law bind her. - And to return to the
Archdeacon's Registry a full true and perfect inventory of said goods and
effects with an accurate account of her acts and proceedings in the premises
when thereunto lawfully required and to these ends she hath given pledges
namely William Cannon of Ballakaighin in the parish of
German and Daniel Caine of Ballanea in the parish of Michael who have
executed the usual bond in presence of the court.
