                  The humble Petition of
                  Ann Kewley of the
                  Town of Douglas widow
                  of Charles Kewley dec’d
                  formerly of the said
                  town Shoemaker

Sheweth
      That the said Charles Kewley your
      Petitioners late husband departed
      this life some time since intestate
      That it is necessary that some
      fit and proper person should be
      appointed to administer to his
      estate and effects
                  Therefore your Pet’r
                  humbly prays a hearing
                  hereof and that your
                  Worship will be pleased
                  to appoint your Pet’r

                  administrator of her
                  said husbands estate
                  with such other [xxx?]
                  as is [xxx?] and your
                  Petitioner will pray.

      Ordered that this Petition do come
      on to be heard at an Ecclesiastical 
      Court to be holden at Douglas
      on Friday next whereof all proper
      parties to have due notice
                  Given this 11 July 1854

              14 July 1854

Upon hearing this Petition in Presence of parties or their Advocates
and it appearing that Charles Kewley some time [a]go departed
this life Intestate leaving Ann Kewley his widow and Ch’s Kewley, Marg’t
Kewley & Isabella Gill wife of John Gill [“his children him surviving” repl/w “next of kin”]
           him surviving who are therefore [decreted?] sole adm’rs of all
           and singular the goods rights credits & effects of the sd dec’d and
His [xxx?] next of kin ^  the said Ann Kewley is therefore sworn well
and truly to administer

the Estates and effects of the said Charles Kewley deceased …
to Law to pay all the just debts and funeral expenses of the
deceased as far forth as the goods unto extend and the Law bind
her and also to return to the Episcopal Registry of this diocese
a full true and perfect Inventory of the same with an
accurate account of her acts and proceedings in the [premises?]
when [xxx?] lawfully required And to [xxx?] she has
given pledges named Anthony Lewthwaite and Thomas
Clague who have executed the usual Bond in the
presence of the Court.
