60 Michael In the name of God Amen. I Patrick Cannell formerly of Kionedroghad in the parish of Kirk Michael being advanced in years but of sound mind memory and understanding do make this my last will and testament as follows - making void all former wills made by me this 14th day of December 1853. In the first place I commit my soul to God and my body to Christian burial. Secondly I leave to all cravers the sum of six pence each. I leave to my sons Philip Cannell, Hugh Cannell, and Patrick Cannell the sum of ten shillings each. I leave to my sons Thomas Cannell and William Cannell the sum of thirty pounds each. I leave to my daughter Eleanor Clark alias Cannell the wife of Wm Clark the sum of ten shillings as legacy. I leave to my wife Eleanor Cannell all the cash, credits, and monies due either by notes or bonds and security which is payable and due in her own name as the same writings appear also a note of twenty pounds payable by Wm Teare of Andreas and likewise all the household furniture and also the further sum of sixty pounds secured in the lands of John Quark of Andreas as legacy. Lastly I nominate and appoint my son John Cannell whole and sole executor of this my last will and testament and the residue of my goods and effects both moveable and immoveable also cash credits etc of what nature kinds or denomination soever they be confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament the day and year before written. Patrick Cannell Witnesses: Thomas Cannell Patrick Kelly At a Chapter Court held in Kirk Michael on the 31st day of May 1855. Thomas Cannell one of the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing paper writing purporting to be the will of Patrick Cannell deceased having made oath upon the Holy Evangelists that said Patrick Cannell the testator when of sound and disposing mind, memory, and understanding duly signed and executed the same as and for his last will and testament in presence of deponent and of Patrick Kelly the other subscribing witness thereof. John Cannell the executor in said will named is therefore sworn well and truly to fulfil and execute the same according to law to pay all the just debts legacies and funeral expenses of said testator so far forth as the goods will extend and the Registry a full true and perfect inventory of said estate with an accurate account of his acts and proceedings in the premises when thereunto lawfully required and to these ends he hath given pledges namely Thomas Cannell of Rhencullen and John Corjeage of Ballannah both of the parish of Michael who have executed the usual bond in presence of the court. Probatume Est T. A. Corlett Whereas the Eccl Court of this Diocese hath this day granted probate of the last will and testament of Patrick Cannell deceased to John Cannell And whereas Thomas Cannell of Rhencullen in the parish of Michael and John Corjeage of Balloney in the parish of Michael have agreed to become pledges for the said John Cannell for the due administration of the said estate according to Law. Therefore know all men by these present, that we, the said Thomas Cannell and John Corjeage hereby bind and oblige ourselves, and our Executors and administrators as pledges of the said John Cannell for the due and faithful administration of the goods and effects of the said deceased according to law. And in his default we bind ourselves and our Executors, and Administrators to be answerable to all parties interested in the said Estate or the Administration thereof. Witness our subscriptions this 31st day of May 1855. Whereas Patrick Cannell formerly of Kionedroghad in the parish of Kirk Michael deceased did by his last will and testament bearing date the 14th day of December 1853 - leave to his son Thomas Cannell the sum of thirty pounds and whereas at a Chapter Court held in Kirk micael on the 31st day of May 1855 the said will was duly proved and probate thereto granted to John Cannell the executor therein named who is now desirous of paying said sum of thirty pounds to the said Thomas Cannell. Therefore know all men by these presents that I the said Thomas Cannell do hereby own and acknowledge to have received from the said John Cannell the said executor the sum of thirty pounds sterling in full payment and satisfaction of the legacy of sum of thirty pounds bequeathed me in the said will and I do hereby exonerate, release, acquit, and discharge the said executor John Cannell his Executors and Administrators late of the said Patrick Cannell and every person whomsoever of and from all further claim and demand on account of said sum of thirty pounds and every part thereof and I do by these presents cancel the same.
