To the Worshipful Thomas Arthur Corlett Vicar General
The humble petition of Isabella Skillicorn of Douglas widow
        Sheweth
That your petitioners husband Thomas Skillicorn of Douglas Mariner departed
this life about nineteen years ago intestate as petr is informed or if he
made a will petitioner has been unable to discover the same
That it is necessary that administration be set up to his estate
That John Skillicorn Margt Skillicorn and Thomas Skillicorn are the
children and next of kin of petr and her said husband. The said John
Skillicorn and Margt Skillicorn are above the age of twentyone years and
the sd Margt Skillicorn is the wife of George Archibald but the said Thomas
Skillicorn is under that age
Wherefore petr humbly prays a hearing hereof and that your Worship may be
pleased to grant letters of administration of the said Estate to petr and
she will pray etc

Ordered that this petition do come on to be heard at an Ecclesiastic Court
to be held in Douglas on Friday next whereas all proper parties are to have
due notice
               given the 10th Nov 1859


At an Eccl Court held in Douglas the 11th Novr 1859
Upon hearing this petition in presence of the parties or their advocated
and it appearing that Thomas Skillicorn late of Douglas departed this life
Intestate leaving issue namely John Skillicorn Margaret Archibald wife of
George Archibald and Thomas Skillicorn a minor all of whom are therefore
decreed sole administrators of all and singular the goods Rights Credits
Chattels and effects of the sd decd and the petitioner his widow is sworn
in trust well and truly to administer the sd Estate according to Law to pay
all just debts and funeral expenses of the decd so far forth as his goods
will extend and the Law bind her, to return a true and faithful Inventory
thereof with an accurate account of her acts and providing in the premises
to the Episcopal Registry when there unto Lawfully required and to these
ends she has given pledges namely John Skillicorn and Thomas Clark who have
entered into the usual Bond in presence of the Court

Petition of Thomas Craine and Isabella Craine, otherwise Skillicorn his
wife. On 11 November 1859 at Douglas, Isabella was granted administration
of the estate of her former deceased husband Thos Skillicorn. This
administration was recalled, 10 February 1860, and administration granted
to Thomas Craine. Agreement signed by John Skillicorn and George Archibald.
