The humble Petition of Jannette(?)
of the Parish of Michael
Spinster.
 
Sheweth
                        That John Cannell late of …….
in the Parish of Michael aforesaid departed
this life in the said Parish on or about the
6: day of June 1859 intestate.
 
                        That the only next of kin of the
said John Cannell deceased are his
children John Thomas Cannell 
living ……. aforesaid German, William
Cannell of  Kirk Michael Village
Margaret wife of William Stowell(?) of
Liverpool in the County of Lancaster
in England, Louisa wife of George Loyal
of Montrose in Scotland and your
Petitioner.
 
                        That it is necessary that some
proper person …… be appointed to 
administer the Estate of the said John
Cannel deceased.
 
                        Therefore your Petitioner
hereby prays a hearing hereof 
and the Letters of Administration 
of the said John Cannell’s Estate 
may be granted to some proper person
and she will pray.

Ordered that this petition do come on to be
heard at an Ecclesiastical Court to be holden at
Kirk Michael on Monday the 23rd day of
…… Instant – Whereof all proper parties to have due notice.

Upon hearing the petition in presence of the 
parties or their advocates and it appearing
that John Cannell departed this life Intestate
leaving issue namely John Thomas Cannell
William Cannell Margaret wife of William
Stowell Louisa wife of George Loyal both resident
of this Isle and the petitioner who are therefore
decreed joint administrators of all and singular 
the Goods Rights Credits Chattels and Effects
of the sd. decd. and the petitioner is sworn
well and truly to administer the sd. Estate
according to Law, to pay all just debts and
funeral expenses of the decd. so far forth as 
his Goods will extend and the Law bind her
to return a true and faithful Inventory thereof
with an accurate account of the acts and
proceedings in the premises to the Episcopal
Registry when thereunto lawfully required
and to these ends she has given pledges namely
Edward Cannell and William Hannah 
who have entered into and executed the usual
Bond in presence of the Court.

WHEREAS the Ecclesiastical Court of this Diocese hath this day given administration of all and
singular the Goods & effects of John Cannell
deceased, to Jannette Cannell.
 
AND WHEREAS Ed. Cannell of ____________
in the Parish of German and William Hannah
of ____________ in the Parish of Michael have agreed 
to become pledges for the said Jannette Cannell for the due administration
of the said Estate according to law.
 
Therefore know all men by these Presents, that we, the said Ed. Cannell
and William Hannah hereby bind and oblige
ourselves and our Executors and Administrators, as pledges for the said Jannette Cannell 
for the due and faithful administration of the goods
and effects of the said deceased according to law.  And in …… default we bind ourselves and our Executors
and Administrators to be answerable to all parties interested in the said Estate, or the Administration thereof.
Witness our subscription this 23rd day of Feby. 1860
