            The humble petition of
            Frederick Anderson and Fredk.
            Anderson Jr. of the Town of
            Douglas
 
Sheweth
            That in the month of August in the
            year of Our Lord One thousand Eight hundred and Fifty
            nine Thomas Brew of the Parish of Jurby
            departed this life indebted to your Petitioners
            and leaving his widow Jane Brew and infant
            children him surviving.
 
            That it has become necessary that
            administration should be granted of his
            Estate.
 
            Wherefore your Petitioners pray
            a hearing hereof and that your Worship
            may be pleased to grant administration
            of the Estate of the said
            Thomas Brew and your Petnrs.
            will pray.

Ordered that this petition do come on to be 
heard at an Ecclesiastical Court to be holden
at Ramsey on Friday next the 17th Inst.
Whereof all proper parties are to have
due notice.

At an Eccl. Court held in Ramsey the 7th April 1860
 
Upon hearing this petition in presence of parties or their advocates
and upon examination of Thomas ………. a subscribing witness
to the Will of Thomas Brew decd. I am of opinion that this 
due execution of the Will has been proved and that probate
thereof shd. be granted as prayed for and the same is 
thereon to order and adjudged accordingly.

The Last Will and Testament of
Thomas Brew of the Parish of Jurby
being weak in body but of perfect
and sound mind and memory
at the making hereof.
 
First he commit[sic] his soul
to Almighty God who gave it
and his Body to the Earth
to be buried after a decent
manner.
 
I leave and bequeath to my
Tree[sic] sons John and William and
Robert and to my daughter Elizabeth
The whole of my Goods that
Remain after my earthly affairs 
are settled Equally Between
them.
 
Lastly I appoint and ordain
Jane my wife whole and
Sole Executrix of all the
Rest of my goods to settle
my Earthly affairs.
 
This the 19th day of January
in the year of Our Lord

At an Eccl. Court held in Ramsey the 7th April 1860
Thomas Kipack one of the subscribing witnesses to the
foregoing paper writing purporting to be the last will and 
Testament of Thomas Brew and having made oath on
the Holy Evangelists that the Testator when of sound
duly signed and executed the same as and for
his last will and Testament in presence of this Witness
and other subscribing Witnesses Thos. Kermode and the
Executrix having renounced in open Court the burden
of the execution of this Will.  John Corlett at the
request of the Petr. who is a Creditor of the Estate
of decd. is thereupon sworn well and truly to administer
the personal Estate and Effects of the Testator in terms
of his Will and according to law to pay all just
debts legacies and funeral expenses of the sd. decd. so
far forth as his Goods will thereto extend and the law
bind him and to return a true and perfect inventory
of the same with an accurate account of his acts
and proceedings in the premises to the Episcopal
Registry when thereunto lawfully required and to
these ends he has given pledges namely the sd. Frederick
Anderson and Jas._________ who have executed the
usual Bond in presence of the Court.

WHEREAS the Ecclesiastical Court of this Diocese hath 
this day granted administration with the
will annexed of Thomas Brew
deceased, to John Corlett in trust for the benefit of
the Executrix in the sd. Will named.
 
AND WHEREAS Frederick Anderson of Douglas
in the Parish of Braddan and Jas. _________ of the Town
of Ramsey in the Parish of Maughold, have agreed
to become pledges for the said John Corlett for the due administration
of the said Estate according to law.
 
Therefore know all men by these Presents, that we, the said Frederick Anderson
and Jas. __________ hereby bind and oblige
ourselves and our Executors and Administrators, as pledges for the said John Corlett
for the due and faithful administration of the goods and 
effects of the said deceased according to law.  And in his default we bind ourselves and our Executors
and Administrators to be answerable to all parties interested in the said Estate, or the Administration thereof.
