The humble Petition of 
Philip Quayle of the
Parish of Malew Miner
and Farmer
 
Sheweth
            That some time since James
            Quayle of the Parish of
            Malew Miner your Petitioner's
            son departed this life intestate
            and it is expedient that some
            fit and proper person should
            be approved and sworn administrator
            of his estate and effects.
            
            Wherefore, Petitioner
            hereby prays a
            hearing hereof and
            that your Worship
            will be pleased 
            to grant administration
            of the estate and
            effects of the said
            James Quayle to
            your Petitioner and
            Petitioner will pray.

Ordered that this Petition do
come on to be heard at an
Ecclesiastical Court to be 
holden at Douglas on Friday
the 20th April Instant whereby
all proper parties and persons
to have due notice.
            Given this ______ day of ________ 1860

Upon hearing this Petition in presence of the
parties and it appearing that James Quayle
son of the sd. Petitioner departed this life intestate 
     [4 lines illegible]
to Law to pay all just debts and funeral
expenses of the sd. Decd. so far forth as his
Goods will extend and the law bind him 
to return a true and faithful Inventory
thereof with an accurate account of his acts
and proceedings in the premises to the Episcopal
Registry when thereunto lawfully required and
to these ends he has given pledges namely 
Cleave Kinley and John Quayle who have
entered into and executed the usual Bond 
in presence of the Court.
                        Decretum Est.

WHEREAS the Ecclesiastical Court of this Diocese 
hath this day granted administration of all
and singular the goods & effects of James Quayle
deceased, to Philip Quayle.
 
AND WHEREAS John Quayle of _______
in the Parish of Malew and Cleave Kinley
of Balla______ in the Parish of Santon have agreed
to become pledges for the said Philip Quayle for the due administration
of the said Estate according to law.
 
Therefore know all men by these Presents, that we, the said John Quayle
and Cleave Kinley hereby bind and oblige
ourselves and our Executors and Administrators as pledges for the said Philip Quayle
for the due and faithful administration of the goods and
effects of the said deceased according to law.  And in his default we bind ourselves and our Executors
and Administrators to be answerable to all parties interested in the said Estate, or the Administration thereof.
Witness our subscription the 20th day of April 1860

consent and agree that administration
