To His Worship Thos. A. Corlett Esq. Vicar General The humble petition of Elizth. Clarke Widow of Christopher Clarke of Michael decd. Sheweth that your Petr's. husband the sd. Christopher Clarke departed this life on or about the 16th Feby. Instant Intestate. That your petr. is desirous that administration should be granted to the Estate of the sd. Christopher Clarke. Wherefore your Petr. prays a hearing hereof and that she may be appointed and sworn adminx. of the sd. Christ Clarke and she will pray. ______. Moore for Petr. Ordered that this Petition do come on at the ____ this day with notice to parties - given this 23rd Feby. 1860. At an Eccl. Court held in Kirk Michael the 23rd Feby. 1860. Upon hearing the petition in presence of the parties or their advocates and it appearing that Christopher Clark some short time ago departed this life Intestate leaving issue namely Thomas Clarke William Clarke John Clarke Elizabeth Clarke Dave Clarke Margaret wife of John ______ Charlotte wife of William Gale Elleanor wife of William Caine and Ann Dougherty his grandchild only next of kin him surviving who are therefore decreed sole administrators of all and singular the Goods Rights Credits Chattels and effects of the sd. decd. and the petitioner is sworn well and truly to administer the sd. Estate according to Law to pay all just debts and funeral expenses of the sd. decd. so far forth as his Goods will extend and the law bind him to return a true and faithful Inventory of the same with an accurate account of his acts and proceedings in the premises to the Episcopal Registry when thereunto lawfully required and to these ends she has given pledges namely William Clarke and John Clarke who have entered into and executed the usual Bond in presence of the Court. Decretum Est. T.A. Corlett We the undersigned being the children and next of kin and Husbands of the Daughters of Christopher Clarke late of the Parish of KK Michael Joiner decd. Do hereby renounce and give up all our right title and interest and distribution share of the Personal Estate of the said Christopher Clarke who departed this life on the 16th day of February instant to and for the absolute use and disposal of our mother Elizabeth Clarke the widow and relict of the said Intestate and we do hereby humbly request His Worship Vicar General to grant Letters of Administration of said Intestate Estate to the said Elizabeth Clarke widow without further notice to either party ____ ____ as witness ____ ____ this 20th February 1860. Witnessed ______ ) [A total of 13 signatures ______ ______ ) subscribed, not all legible] ______ ______ ) WHEREAS the Ecclesiastical Court of this Diocese hath this day granted administration of all and singular the Goods & effects of Christopher Clarke deceased to Elizabeth Clarke the widow. AND WHEREAS William Clarke of Village in the Parish of Michael and John Clarke of Village in the Parish of Michael have agreed to become pledges for the said Elizabeth Clarke for the due administration of the said Estate according to Law. Therefore know all men by these Presents, that we, the said William Clarke and John Clarke hereby bind and oblige ourselves and our Executors and Administrators as pledges for the said Elizabeth Clarke for the due and faithful administration of the goods and effects of the said deceased according to law. And in ____ default we bind ourselves and our Executors and Administrators to be answerable to all parties interested in the said Estate, or the Administration therof.
