54     Rushen
In the name of God Amen.
I John Gawn of parish of Kirk Christ Rushen being at present weak in
body but of a sound mind and memory and calling to mind the uncertainty of
human life do make this my last will and testament hereby revoking
all former wills in manner following:
1st I commit my soul to God and my body to Christian burial to be
decently interred at the direction of my executors hereinafter
mentioned.
2nd I leave and bequeath to my son William Gawne the sum of three
pounds ten shillings British.
3rdly I leave and bequeath to my son Henry Gawne the sum of three
pounds ten shillings British.
4th I leave and bequeath to my daughter Martha Kermode the sum of five
shillings British.
5thly I leave and bequeath to my granddaughter Ann Gawne my bed, bedstead,
and hangings.
Lastly I nominate, constitute, and appoint my sons John and Thomas
Gawne whole and sole executors of all my goods and effects moveable
and immoveable of what kind soever in witness whereof I have hereunto
subscribed my name or cause my mark to be made this twelfth day of January
One thousand eight hundred and sixty five signed, published and declared by
the testator as and for his last will and testament in
presence of us witnesses:

19 May 1865 Executor sworn in court with pledges namely John Hudson
and Thomas Gawne both of Rushen who have entered into and executed
