To Your Worship Richard Jebb Esq Vicar General

			The humble petition of John Corlett
			of the town of Douglas, Car
			Proprietor

That Margaret Corlett formerly Quayle the
wife of your petitioner departed, this life on or
about the 4th day of December 1872 without issue
and intestate.

That it is necessary that Administration 
of the Estate and Effects of the said deceased
should be granted to your petitioner or some other
fit and proper person for the benefit of all the 
parties interested therein.

Wherefore your petitioner prays a hearing hereof
and that your Worship may be pleased to
appoint him or some other fit and proper
person to administer the the Estate and Effects
of the said Margaret Corlett deceased

And petitioner will pray tc

as to be heard at an Ecclesiastical
Court to be held at Douglas
on Thursday the 27th day of 
November 1873 at 10 o’clock in
the forenoon.  Whereof all
proper parties and persons

Diocese of

At an Ecclesiastical Court held at Douglas
on the 27th day of November 1873.
Upon hearing this Petition in the presence of the Parties or their Advocates and
It being proved that Margaret Corlett, wife of John Corlett, late
of the town of Douglas in the Parish of Braddan, on or about the 4th
day of December 1872, departed this life intestate

This Court hath decreed John Corlett, the husband of 
the said deceased Administrator of All and Singular the personal Estate
and Effects of said deceased, and accordingly, he is sworn well and truly to administer the
said Estate and Effects of the said deceased by paying her just debts and funeral expenses so
far forth as the said Estate and Effects will extend and the Law bind him and distributing the
residue thereof according to Law, and to return to the Episcopal Registry of this Diocese a full,
true and perfect Inventory thereof, with an accurate account of his administration
thereof when thereunto lawfully required, and to these ends he hath given pledges,
namely, William James Kermode, of Douglas
in the Parish of Braddan and Robert Kinley
of Douglas in the Parish of Braddan, who have
entered into and executed the usual Bond in presence of the Court.

Whereas the Ecclesiastical Court of this Isle and Diocese of Sodor and Mann hath this day
granted Administration of the 
Estate of Margaret Corlett
late of Douglas in the Parish of Braddan
deceased to John Corlett her husband.

[Initials in margin "R.J."] And Whereas ?James Kermode of Douglas
in the Parish of Braddan and Robert Kinley
of Douglas in the Parish of Braddan
have agreed to become Pledges for the due and faithful Administration of the said Estate by the
said John Corlett according to Law.

Now, know all Men by these presents, that we, the said ? James
Kermode and Robert Kinley hereby bind and
oblige ourselves, jointly and severally, and our Heirs, Executors and Administrators, firmly
by these presents as pledges for the said John Corlett
that he shall well and truly administer, all and singular, the Personal Estate and Effects
of the said deceased according to Law.  And in his default we bind ourselves, and each
of us, our Heirs, Executors, and Administrators, to be answerable and responsible for the whole
to the said Court, and to all parties interested in the said Estate and Effects, or the adminis-
tration thereof, in the place and stead of the said John
Corlett..

Witness our subscription, this 27th day November in the Year of our Lord
One thousand Eight Hundred and Seventy three.
