To His Worship Vicar General Jebb

The humble petition of 
William Corlett of the parish
of German

Sheweth
That by the last will and 
Testament of Richard Cowley of Knockbane
in the parish of German a certain legacy
was bequeathed to Margaret Corlett
wife of your petitioner payable by
annual instalments.

That after the decease of
the said Richard Cowley certain payments
were made to the same Margaret Corlett
witness of the said will.

That some time [..on]
the 21st day of March 1862 the said
Margaret Corlett departed this life

and as several instalments of the 
said legacy are now due and
owing it is necessary that your
petitioner or some other fit and proper
person should be appointed to administer
her Estate.

Wherefore your petitioner
prays a hearing hereof and
that your Worship may be
pleased to grant administration
of the Estate of the said Margaret
Corlett to your petitioner or to
some other fit and proper person
and he will pray ___

heard before me at an Ecclesiastical Court

to be holden at Peel on  ^  the 28th November 1873
at 10 o'clock in the forenoon

At an Ecclesiastical Court held at Peel
on the 28th day of November 1873.
Upon hearing this Petition in the presence of the Parties or their Advocates and
it being proved that Margaret Corlett, wife of William Corlett, late
of Cronk-ny-[Fedjag?] in the Parish of Michael, on or about the 21st
day of March 1862, departed this life _ _intestate

This Court hath decreed William Corlett, the husband of 
the said deceased Administrator of All and Singular the personal Estate
and Effects of said deceased, and accordingly, he is sworn well and truly to administer the
said Estate and Effects of the said deceased by paying her just debts and funeral expenses so
far forth as the said Estate and Effects will extend and the Law bind him and distributing the
residue thereof according to Law, and to return to the Episcopal Registry of this Diocese a full,
true and perfect Inventory thereof, with an accurate account of his administration
thereof when thereunto lawfully required, and to these ends he hath given pledges,
namely, Thomas Fayle, of Ballacarnane Moar
in the Parish of Michael and Richard Davis Stephen
of Glenmoar in the Parish of German, who have
entered into and executed the usual Bond in presence of the Court.

Whereas the Ecclesiastical Court of this Isle and Diocese of Sodor and Mann hath this day
granted Administration of the 
Estate of Margaret Corlett
late of Cronk-ny-[Bassac ?] in the Parish of Michael
deceased to William Corlett her husband.

And Whereas Thomas Fayle of Ballacarnane Moar 
in the Parish of Michael and Richard Davis Stephen["Steven" deleted & "R.J." in left margin] 
of Glenmoar in the Parish of German
have agreed to become Pledges for the due and faithful Administration of the said Estate by the
said William Corlett according to Law.

Now, know all Men by these presents, that we, the said Thomas
		 Davis
Fayle and Richard ^ Stephen ["Steven" deleted & initialed "R.J." left margin) hereby bind and
oblige ourselves, jointly and severally, and our Heirs, Executors and Administrators, firmly
by these presents as pledges for the said William Corlett
that he shall well and truly administer, all and singular, the Personal Estate and Effects
of the said deceased according to Law.  And in his default we bind ourselves, and each
of us, our Heirs, Executors, and Administrators, to be answerable and responsible for the whole
to the said Court, and to all parties interested in the said Estate and Effects, or the adminis-
tration thereof, in the place and stead of the said William
Corlett.

Witness our subscription, this 28th day November in the Year of our Lord
One thousand Eight Hundred and Seventy three.

also acknowledged by the executing parties to be their proper Act and
