The last will and testament of Daniel Corlett of the parish of Ballaugh
who from due consideration of the uncertainty of this transitory life do
make declare and publish this my last will and testament in manner
following.
First I commit my soul to God and my body to Christian burial.
I leave and bequeath unto my son John the sum of five shillings as
legacy.
I leave and bequeath unto my son Daniel the sum of five pounds as legacy.
I leave and bequeath unto my daughter Alice my whole right, title, and
interest of in and unto the principal sum of a certain deed of bond and
security passed to Jane Corlett charging and effecting certain lands and
premises called and known by the name of Ballacurn Keil situate in the
parish of Ballaugh now the property of William Brew and bearing date
the 24th day of November 1817 with all interest costs and charges due
thereon, a bed and a chest as legacy.
Lastly I nominate constitute and appoint my daughter Jane whole and
sole executrix and residuary legatee of all the rest and remainder of my
goods real and personal cash, credit and effects moveable and
immoveable of whatsoever kind or description.  In testimony whereof I
hereunto subscribed my name as and for my last will and testament this the
29th day of January 1868.

Whereas, the Eccl Court of this Isle and Diocese of Sodor and Mann hath this
day granted probate of the will of Daniel Corlett late of Ballavolley
in the parish of Ballaugh deceased to William Boyde husband of Jane the
executrix in said will named.
And whereas Daniel Quayle of Close Moar in the parish of Ballaugh and Thomas
Craine of Dollagh Moar in the parish of Ballaugh have agreed to become
pledges for the due and faithful administration of the said
estate by the said William Boyde, according to Law.
Now know all man by these present, that we, the said Daniel Quayle and
Thomas Craine hereby bind and oblige ourselves, jointly and severally,
and our Heirs, Executors, and Administrators, firmly by these present, as
pledges for the said William Boyde that he shall well and truly
administer, all and singular, the Personal Estate and effects of the said
deceased according to Law.   And in his default we bind ourselves, and
each of us, our Heirs, Executors, and Administrators, to be answerable
and responsible for the whole to the said Court, and to all parties
interest in the said Estate and Effects, or the administration thereof, in
place and stead of the said William Boyde.
Witnessed our subscriptions this 9th day of October in the Year of our Lord,
One thousand Eight Hundred and Seventy Four.

At a Chapter Court held at Ramsey on the 9th day of October 1874, The
foregoing bond and obligation was duly signed and delivered, and also
acknowledged by the executing parties to be their proper Act and Deed.
