1874 Maughold 15 This is the last will and testament of me Thomas J. Lace of Ballacreggan in the parish of Maughold. I leave devise and bequeath to my wife Catherine Lace all my goods, cash, credits, chattels, and effects and property of every description and denomination. And I nominate constitute and appoint my said wife executrix of this my last will and testament as witness my name this 1st day of November 1873. Thomas J. Lace his X Signed in presence of John Robert Kerruish Elizabeth Lace At a Chapter Court held at Ramsey on the 1st day of May 1874. John Robert Kerruish and Elizabeth Lace the subscribing witnesses to the execution of the foregoing paper writing purporting to be the last will and testament of Thomas James Lace late of Ballacreggan in the parish of Maughold deceased having made oath on the Holy Evangelists that the said testator Thomas James Lace when of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding duly signed and acknowledged the same as and for his last will and testament in their presence and that they at the same time in the presence of the said testator and of each other subscribed the same in attestation thereof. Catherine Lace, widow, the relict of said deceased the sole executrix in said will named is therefore sworn well and truly to fulfil and execute the said will and to administer all and singular the personal estate and effects of the said deceased according to law by paying the just debts and funeral expenses of the deceased and the legacies contained in his will so far forth as his estate and effects will thereto extend and the law bind her and to return to the Archdeacons Registry of the Isle of Man a full true and perfect inventory of all and singular the said estate and effect with an accurate account of his administration thereof when thereunto lawfully required. And to these ends she hath given pledges namely Robert Corkill of Magh E Kew and Robert Kelly of Ballaneigh of the parish of Maughold who have entered into and executed the usual bond in the presence of the court.
