This is the last Will and Testament of me Isabella Cowin of 24 Shaw's Brow in the 
town of Douglas widow.  I leave and bequeath all my personal Estate of whatever 
description to my daughters Jane and Annie equally between them and appoint my said 
daughter Jane Executrix of this my will.
I revoke all prior wills made by me.  Witness my name this 24th day of April 1885

Signed published and declared by the said testators as and for her last Will and 
Testament in her presence at her request and witnesses of each and her have hereunto 
subscribed our names as witnesses the same having first been read over to her.

Common Law Division Testamentary jurisdiction at a district Probate session 
holden at Douglas on the 10th of November 1885
The annexed paper writing dated 24th day of April 1885 having been proved to be 
the last will and testament of Isabella Cowin late No. 24 Shaws Brow in the town 
of Douglas widow deceased who died on the 23rd day of May 1885 Jane Cowin of No.59 
Athol Street in the said town Spinster a daughter of the testatrix the executrix 
therein named is sworn well and truly to fulfill and execute the same and to 
administer the personal estate of the said deceased according to law

In her majesty's High Court of Justice of the Isle of Man Common Law division 
[testamentary jurisdiction]Will of Isabella Cowin late of number 24 Shaw's Brow 
in the town of Douglas widow Know all men by these presents that we(1) Jane Cowin 
of NO. 58 Athol Street in the town of Douglas Spinster and Matthias Clague of the 
town of Douglas Innkeeper are jointly and severally and any two of us jointly bound 
unto our sovereign Lady the Queen in the sum of twenty pounds to the payment whereof, 
well and truly to be made to our lady the Queen, her heirs, and successors, we bind 
and oblige ourselves jointly and severally and any two of us jointly, our executors, 
administrators, firmly by these presents as witness our subscription the 10th day of 
November in the year of our lord one-thousand eight-hundred and eighty-five.
The condition of our obligation is such that if the aforesaid Jane Cowin who seeks to 
obtain a grant of probate of the law Will and Testament of Isabella Cowin late of 
24 Shaw's Brow in the town of Douglas, widow but now deceased, who died on or about 
the 20th day of May 1885, do, when lawfully called on in that behalf make or cause 
to be made a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the personal estate and 
effects of the said deceased which have or shall come to her hands, possession, 
or knowledge or into the hand of any other person for her and the same so made do 
exhibit, or cause to be exhibited into the proper Registry in that behalf  whenever 
required by law to do so and the same personal estate and effects of the said deceased 
which shall at any time come into the hands or possession of the said Jane Cowin or 
into the hand or possession of the said Jane Cowin do well and truly administer 
according to law, that is to say, to pay the debts and liabilities of the said Jane 
Cowin then this obligation is to be void and of no effect or else to remain in full 
force and virtue.  

At Douglas the 10th day of November 1885 the executing parties to the 
foregoing bond acknowledged the same to be their act and deed.
