The humble petition of James Gawne of Athol Lodge Port St Mary in the parish
of Rushen.
Sheweth as follows:
1.  Mary Gawne widow of William Gawne deceased and the mother of your
petitioner departed this life at Glendown in the parish of Rushen on the
4th day of January 1900 intestate.
2. It is necessary that Letter of Administration of the estate and
effects of the said Mary Gawne deceased should be granted.
3.  The only next of kin of the said deceased resident on this island are
two sons, four daughters, and five grandchildren namely your petitioner and
William Gawne, Mary Ann Gawne, spinster, Catherine the wife of
John Moore, Ellen the wife of Thomas Watterson Martha the wife of Thomas
Gawne and Emily Margaret Nixon, Maude Mary Nixon, Charles
Nixon, Florence Nixon and Ernest Nixon the three later of whom are
minors.
Wherefore your petitioner humbly pray a hearing hereof and that your Honor
may be pleased to grant Letter of Administration of the estate and effects
so the said Mary Gawne deceased to your petitioner and that he may have such
other relief as is meet and he will pray.

Ordered that this petition do come on to be heard at a court to be holden at
Castletown on Saturday the 21st day of July 1900 at 12 o'clock noon whereof
all proper parties and persons are to have due and lawful notice. Given at
Castletown this 19th day of July 1900.  J. Gell

In the matter of the petition of James Gawne of Athol Lodge Fistard in
the parish of Rushen for administration of the estate of Mary Gawne
deceased.
We the undersigned next of kin of the said Mary Gawne deceased or
representatives of next of kin hereby admit to have received notice of
the above application for administration and consent to the said petition
being appointed administrator.

James Gawne, William Gawne, and John Moore Junior, took out a bond for three
hundred and ninety pounds to the payment of said Lady the Queen on 21 Jul
1900.
