Ballaugh 1901 187 The humble petition of John Thomas Craine of Ballaugh Gentleman and Jane Elizabeth Craine of Ballaugh Spinster. Sheweth that Jane Craine late of the parish of Ballaugh widow (mother of your petitioners) departed this life on or about the 16th of January 1901 having first duly made and executed her last will and testament dated the 6th day of December 1900 whereof she appointed your petitioner the said Jane Elizabeth Craine sole executrix That your petitioners are desirous that probate of the said will should be granted to the said Jane Elizabeth Craine. Wherefore the said petitioners humbly pray a hearing hereof and that your honors may be pleased to grant probate of the said will of the said Jane Craine deceased to the said Jane Elizabeth Craine the executrix named in the said will and such other and further relief as is meet. And petitioners will pray Thos L. Cooil Advocate for petitioners. Ordered that this petition do come on to be heard before me at a court to be holden at Peel on Monday the 11th day of November 1901. Whereof all proper persons and parties are to have due notice. Given at Peel this 11th November 1901. S. Stevenson Moore. Know all men by these present that we Jane Elizabeth Craine of Ballaugh Spinster, Thomas Albert Corlett of Ballaugh Schoolmaster and John Corlett of Ballaugh Gentleman are jointly and severally and any two of us jointly bound unto our Sovereign Lord the King in the sum of One hundred pounds to the payment whereof, well and truly to be made to our said Lord the King, his heirs, and successors, we bind and oblige ourselves jointly and severally, and any two of us jointly, our executors and administrators, firmly by these presents. As witness our subscriptions the 11th day of November in the year of Our Lord One thousand nine hundred and one. The condition of our obligation is such, that if the above named Jane Craine (hereinafter called the Executrix who seeks to obtain a grant of probate of the last will and testament of Jane Craine late of the parish of Ballaugh widow but now deceased, who died at on or about the 16th January 1901 do when lawfully called on in that behalf, make or cause to be made a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the personal estate and effects of the said deceased which have or shall come into her hands, possession, or knowledge, or into the hands of any other person for her and the same so made do exhibit, or cause to be exhibited, into the proper Registry in that behalf whenever required by law so to do; and the same personal estate, and effects and all other the personal estate and effects of the said deceased, which shall at any time come into the hands or possession of the said executrix or into the hands or possession of any other person or persons for her or which without default might have come into the hands or possession of the said executrix do well and truly administer according to law, that is to say, do pay the debts and liabilities of the said deceased and the legacies bequeathed by the said will so far as the personal estate will extend and the law bind the said executrix, and to deliver and pay unto the person or persons legally entitled thereto all the rest and residue of the said personal estate and effects, then this obligation to be void and of no effect or else to remain in full force and virtue. Before me, S. Stevenson Moore. This is the last will of me Jane Craine of Ballacrosha Cottage, Ballaugh, widow. I leave to my daughter Jane Elizabeth Craine whom I appoint sole executrix hereof my real estate and all my personal estate, subject to the said Jane Elizabeth Craine paying to her brother John Thomas Craine the rental of the three cottages, field and garden on Ballacrosha for the maintenance of the same John Thomas Craine during his lifetime. I have not left any benefit to my grandchildren (who are children of my deceased daughter Sarah Ann Homer) as they will probably be otherwise provided for and if they are in want of anything, I know my child Jane Elizabeth Craine will assist them as far as she is able. Witness my name this 6th day of Dec 1900.
