This is the last will and testament of me John Gawne of Ballacorage in
the parish of Ballaugh.  I hereby revoke all former wills and
testamentary writings at any time heretofore made by me and declare
this only to be my last will and testament.
I leave and bequeath to my three sons Robert, John, and William the sum
of five pounds each as a legacy.
And I leave and bequeath to my daughter Jane Julia the sum of five hundred
pounds ten shillings per centum per annum from the day of my decease until
paid but the principal sum shall not be payable until after
the expiration of one year from the date of my decease such legacy however
to be absolutely for my said daughter upon my decease.  And I hereby
expressly charge the legacies of five pounds in favor of each of
my said three sons and the said legacy of five hundred pounds to my said
daughter upon the whole of my real estate (except that dwelling house strip
of land and premises hereinafter devised to my said daughter Jane Julia and
direct that such legacies shall be payable out of my real estate
on which they are charged as aforesaid only and shall so long as they remain
unpaid be liens and charges upon the same in favor respectively
of my said sons and daughter.
And I give and devise my old house and premesies situate at the Curragh
Ballaugh together with a strip or portion of my field called Calig four
yards in width measured from present rear of the said house running
along the said rear of the said house parallel therewith from the high
road to the field lately the property of John T. Kneale to my said
daughter Jane Julia for and during the term of her natural life.  And upon
her decease I give and devise the said dwelling house strip of land
premises to the person who shall at the time of my said daughter's decease
by my heir or heiress at law.
And I expressly declare that the last hereinbefore mentioned dwelling house
strip of land and premesies shall in nowise be chargeable with the payment
of the aforesaid legacies which I declare are to be payable out
of the remainder of my real estate.
I give and devise subject to the payment thereout of the said legacies as
hereinbefore proved the rest residue and remainder of my real estate
wheresoever situate unto Mary Ann Gawne widow of my late son Thomas Gawne to
hold the same for and during the remainder of her natural life proved she
remained my said son's widow and upon the decease or remarriage of the said
Mary Ann Gawne which ever event shall first
happen I give and devise such residue of my real estate to the person
who shall at the date of the death or remarriage as aforesaid of the said
Mary Ann Gawne be my heir or heiress at law subject however to the payment
thereout of the said legacies as aforesaid.  I leave and bequeath the whole
of my personal estate of every description and wheresoever situated unto my
said daughter Jane Julia absolutely and I nominate constitute and appoint my
said daughter sole executrix of this my will
and and I hereby declare that all benefits taken under my will by any
female shall be for her sole and separate use and free from the control,
debts, and engagements of any husband she or they may at any time have. As
