I William Callow of Ballachrink in the parish of Lonan Farmer being of
sound mind memory and understanding do make this my last will and testament
in manner following hereby revoking and cancelling all wills heretofore made
by me.
First I leave devise and bequeath to my wife Eleanor Callow during her
natural lifetime all rents, interest, issues and profits arising annually
out of the whole of my real and personal estate of every description.
Upon the decease of my said wife Eleanor Callow I leave devise and bequeath
to my daughter Mary Ellen Corteen wife of Gilbert Corteen the sum of five
hundred pounds sterling after payment of my just debts testamentary and
other expenses I leave devise and bequeath to my son John Thomas Callow
(upon the decease of his mother) the whole of my
real estate and the remainder of my personal estate of whatsoever
nature or description as his own absolutely.
Lastly I nominate constitute and appoint my said wife Eleanor Callow,
sole executrix of this my last will and testament and have hereunto
subscribed my name this the sixth day of January one thousand nine hundred
and five (1905)   William Callow

The annexed paper writing dated the 6th day of January 1905 having been
proved to be the last will and testament of William Callow late of
Ballacrink in the parish of Lonan farmer deceased who died on the 18th
day of March 1907.
Eleanor Callow also of Ballacrink aforesaid widow the relict of the
testator the executrix therein named is sworn well and truly to fulfill
and execute the same and to administer the personal estate of the said
deceased according to law.

At a Court holden at Ramsey on the 30th day of November 1914
The annexed paper writing dated the 6th day of January 1905 having been
proved on the 6th day of May 1907 as the last will and testament of William
Callow late of Ballachrink in the parish of Lonan Farmer
deceased and probate thereof granted to Eleanor Callow the widow and relict
of the the testator the sole executrix named in the said will and it this
day appearing that the said Eleanor Callow hath lately died without having
fully administered the personal estate of the said William Callow deceased.
This court hath therefore granted administration de bonis non (with the said
will annexed) of this personal estate of the said William Callow deceased to
John Thomas Callow also of Ballachrink aforesaid farmer, a son of the
testator, and  accordingly he is sworn well and faithfully to administer the
personal estate of the said William Callow deceased so left un-administered
as aforesaid and according to law.

The annexed paper writing dated the 6th day of January 1905 having been
proved on the 6th day of May 1907 as the last will and testament of William
Callow late of Ballachrink in the parish of Lonan, Farmer,
decease, who died there on the 18th day of March 1907 and probate thereof
granted to Eleanor Callow widow, the relict of deceased, the
sole executrix named in the said will, who departed this life on the 27th
day of August 1914 without having fully administered the personal
estate and effects of the said deceased And at a Court held at Ramsey on the
30th day of November 1914 administration de bonis non (with his
said will annexed) of the personal estate and effects of the said William
Callow deceased was granted to John Thomas Callow a son of deceased
And it this day appearing that the said John Thomas Callow died on the 15th
day of March 1929 without having fully administered the Personal Estate and
Effects of the said William Callow deceased.  Administration
de bonis non (with his said will annexed) of the Personal estate and
effects of the said William Callow deceased is therefore granted to
Wilfred Harrison Corkill of Bank House, Laxey in the parish of Lonan,
Bank agent and accordingly he is sworn well and faithfully to administer
the personal estate and effects of the said William Callow deceased so
left un-administered as aforesaid in terms of his said will and according

Whereas William Callow late of Ballachrink in the parish of Lonan
Farmer (hereinafter called the Testator) did by his last will and
testament dated the 6th day of January 1905 leave devise and bequeath to his
wife Eleanor Callow during her natural lifetime all rents,
interest, and profits, arising annually out of the whole of his real and
personal estate and upon the decease of the said Eleanor Callow the Testator
left and bequeathed to his daughter Mary Ellen the wife of
Gilbert Corteen the sum of five hundred pounds as a legacy and devised and
bequeathed to his son John Thomas Callow of Ballachrink aforesaid
(on the decease of the said Eleanor Callow) all his the Testators real
estate and the remainder of his personal estate of every kind and the
testator thereby appointed the said Eleanor Callow sole executrix
thereof and whereas the said William Callow died on the 1st day of
March 1907 without having revoked or varied his said recited will and
probate of the same was at a District Probate Session holden at Douglas on
the 6th day of May 1907 duly granted to the said Eleanor Callow the
executrix therein named
and Whereas the said Eleanor Callow died on the 27th day of August 1914
intestate without having administered the estate of the testator and at
a Court holden at Ramsey the 30th day of November 1914 Letters of
Administration cum testamento annexo de bonis non of the estate of the
Testator were duly granted to the John Thomas Callow of Ballachrink
aforesaid (the said John Thomas Callow in his capacity as administrator
being hereinafter referred to as the said administrator) And whereas the
said administrator hath this day paid to the said Mary Ellen Corteen and
Gilbert Corteen the sum of five hundred pounds the amount of the said legacy
bequeathed to the said Mary Ellen Corteen by the will of the Testator and
hath called on  the said Gilbert Corteen and Mary Ellen Corteen to execute
this receipt and release therefore Know all men therefore by these presents
that the said Gilbert Corteen and Mary Ellen Cortene his wife do hereby own
and acknowledge to have received from
and been paid by the said administrator the said sum of five hundred pounds
the amount of the said legacy bequeathed to the said Mary Ellen Corteen wife
of the said Gilbert Corteen by the will of the testator and
in consideration of such payment the said Gilbert Corteen and Mary Ellen
Corteen his wife do hereby release acquit and forever discharge the
administrator his heirs executors and administrators and the estate and
effects of the Testator from all further claims actions and demands
whatsoever in respect of  the said legacy bequeathed to the said Mary Ellen
Corteen by the said will of the Testator and of any interest thereon and in
anywise soever relating thereto.   In witness whereof the said Gilbert
Corteen and Mary Ellen Corteen his wife have hereby to
subscribed their name this 7th day of December one thousand nine hundred and
fourteen.

Know all men by these presents that we Eleanor Callow of Ballachrink in
the parish of Lonan widow
Gilbert Corteen of Tallowqueen in the parish of Maughold Farmer and
John Thomas Callow of Ballachrink in the parish of Lonan are jointly and
severally and any two of us jointly bound unto our Sovereign Lord the
King in the sum of one thousand two hundred pounds to the payment whereof
well and truly to be made to our said Lord the King, his heirs
and successors, we bind and oblige ourselves jointly and severally, and
any two of us jointly, our executors and Administrators, firmly by these
presents.
As witness our subscription the sixth day of May in the year of our Lord one
thousand nine hundred and seven.
The condition o four obligation is such, that if the above named Eleanor
Callow who seeks to obtain a grant of Probate on the last will and testament
of William Callow late of Ballachrink in the parish of Lonan
but now decease, who died on or about the 18th day of March 1907, at ( blank
), do, when lawfully called on in that behalf, make or cause to be made a
true and perfect inventory of all and singular the personal estate and
effects of the said decease, which have or shall come into her hands,
possession, or knowledge, or into the hands of any other person for her, and
the same so made to exhibit, or cause to be exhibited, into the proper
Registry in that behalf whenever required by law so to do:  And the same
personal estate and effects of the said deceased, which shall at any time
come into the hands or possession of the Executrix, or into the hands or
possession of any other person or persons for her or which without default
might have into the hands or possession of the executrix do well and truly
administer according to law, that is to say, do pay the debts
and liabilities of the said deceased so far as the said personal estate
will extend and the law bind the executrix, then this obligation to be
void and of no effect, or else to remain in full force and virtue.

This Grant is made upon the condition that no portion of the assets shall be
distributed or paid during the War to any beneficiary or creditor who
is a German, Austro-Hungarian, or Turkish subject wherever resident, or
to anyone of his behalf, or to or on behalf of any person resident in German
of the Lieut-Governor acting through the Treasurer of this
Island; and if any distribution or payment is made contrary to this
condition the Grant of Probate or Letters of Administration will be
forthwith revoked.
Upon an application to the Treasurer of this Island there will be no
difficulty in proper cases in obtaining sanction to the payment of a
moderate sum out of assets to beneficiaries or creditors who are
German, Austro-Hungarian, or Turkish subject resident in this country at the
commencement of the War and during the War.
