Frederick Lawson

This is the last will and testament 
of me Frederick Lawson of Selukwe House 
Laxey, miner. I hereby revoke all former
wills codicils and testamentary dispositions 
by me at any time heretofore made or 
executed and declare this only to be my last 
will and testament. I leave and bequeath 
to my wife Eunice Margaret Lawson all 
my watches jewels trinkets personal ornaments 
and wearing apparel and all my household 
furniture plate plated goods linen glass china 
books pictures and prints and all other 
articles of domestic or household use or 
ornaments in upon or about my dwelling 
house at the time of my decease. I leave  
devise and bequeath all the rest residue 
and remainder of my estate and effects 
whether real or personal of every kind 
and description and wheresoever situate 
unto Ramsey Bignall Moore of the Borough 
of Douglas, advocate and John Thomas 
Christian of Athol Street in Douglas aforesaid 
accountant and their assigns and the 
survivors of them and the heirs executors 
administrators and assigns of such survivors
and the trustees or trustee for the time being 
of this my will being hereinafter designated 
by and included in the expression “my 
Trustees” according to the nature and 
character of such property upon trust as 
to all my said real estate until sale of 
the same under the powers hereinafter 
contained to let or to join with any other 
person or persons in letting the same upon 
lease or otherwise for such terms and upon 
such conditions and for such rents as my 
Trustees may deem expedient and out of the 
annual rents and profits of the same to 
keep such real estate in good substantial 
repair and insured against fire and to 
pay all other necessary disbursements and 
as to the residue of my personal estate so 
far as the same shall not consist of money 
or investments representing money of the 
kind hereinafter authorised to convert the 
same into money and to invest the proceeds 
of such conversions together with the money 
forming part of my personal estate at the 
time of my decease in the manner herein- 
after authorised. And as to all moneys 
invested at the time of my decease upon 
securities of the kind hereinafter authorised 
to continue the same in their then state of 
investment or from time to time to alter and 
vary the same into other investments of the 
kind hereinafter authorised and as to the income 
of all such investments and the net balance 
of the annual rents and profits of my real 
estate to pay the same to my said wife 
Eunice Margaret Lawson for and during 
the term of her natural life and whilst she 
remains unmarried she thereout maintaining 
clothing and supporting any child of mine 
under the age of twenty-one years. And upon 
the death or marriage of my said wife 
whichever event shall first happen I declare 
that my Trustees shall stand seised and 
possessed of the said residue of my estate 
and the investments then representing the 
same In Trust as to the income of my
said estates real and personal until my 
youngest child shall have attained the age 
of twenty one years for such of my children 
living at the time of my decease and the 
children then living of any child of mine 
who shall have predeceased me in equal 
shares such child or children to take  
equally between them only the share which 
his, her or their parent would have taken 
had such parent been living. And as 
to my said personal estate upon my youngest 
child attaining the age of twenty one years 
In Trust to divide the same equally 
amongst such of my children as shall
then be living and the children then living 
of any child of mine who shall then be 
dead share and share alike such child 
or children of any child of mine to take 
equally between them only the share which 
his her or their parent would have taken 
had such parent then been living. And as 
to the net balance of the annual rents and 
profits of my said real estate after my 
youngest child attains the age of twenty one 
years In Trust until my youngest child 
shall have attained the age of twenty five 
years to pay the same to such of my children 
as shall then be living and the child or 
children then living of any child of mine 
who shall then be dead in equal shares 
such child or children of any deceased child 
of mine to take only equally between them 
the share which his her or their parent 
would have taken had such parent then 
been living. And upon my youngest 
child attaining the age of twenty five years 
my Trustees shall hold my said real 
estate Upon Trust for such of my children 
as shall then be living and the child or 
children then living of any child of mine 
who shall then be dead in equal shares as 
tenants in common such child or children 
of any deceased child of mine to take equally 
between them only the share which his her 
or their parent would have taken had such 
parent then been living. I declare that 
in every case in which a minor is  
entitled to any income under this my will 
my Trustees at their option and in their 
absolute discretion may either themselves 
apply such income in or towards the 
maintenance clothing education and support 
of the minor or may pay the same to the 
guardian or guardians of any such minor 
without seeing to the application thereof 
And it is hereby declared that it shall be 
lawful for my Trustees at any time at their 
discretion to sell all or any part of my 
real estate should they consider it in the
interests of my estate to do so and to make 
any such sale as aforesaid either by 
public auction or private contract and to 
make or agree to any stipulations or 
provisions as to title or evidence or 
commencement of the title or otherwise in any 
condition of sale or contract for sale and to 
buy in at any sale or contract for sale by auction and 
to rescind or vary any contract and to enter 
into any new contract for any of the 
purposes aforesaid without being responsible 
for loss. And to any monies which 
my Trustees are hereby authorised or required 
or which they may have occasion to invest 
they shall be invested in their names on 
the security of land or in any of the
securities authorized by the law of the United 
Kingdom or the Isle of Man for the time being 
for the investment of trust moneys. And I 
hereby further declare that any interest 
under this my will given to any female 
child of mine or to which issue 
being female may become entitled by reason 
of the provisions hereof shall be taken and 
enjoyed by her for her own sole and 
separate use free from the debts liabilities 
and control of any husband or husbands 
without power of anticipation. And I 
hereby declare that the said Ramsey 
Bignall Moore shall notwithstanding 
his being a Trustee hereof be entitled to 
charge the ordinary professional charges for 
any professional work he or his firm may 
do in the execution hereof or as one of the 
executors hereof and the Trustee shall be 
entitled to a commission at the rate of
five per centum per annum on all moneys 
passing through their hands in the 
management or realisation of my estate 
And I hereby declare that the benefits 
hereby conferred on my said wife are to 
be in lieu of dower or widowright out of 
my estates real and personal. I nominate 
constitute and appoint the said R.B.Moore and 
John Thomas Christian executors of this my will.
