I John Quark of Maycroft Cottage Minorca Laxey 
in the Parish of Lonan being of sound mind memory 
and understanding do make this my last will and 
testament in manner following hereby revoking 
and cancelling all wills heretofore made by me.
I direct that my just debts funeral and 
testamentary expenses be paid out of the monies 
in Parr’s Bank & the monies & shares in the Isle 
of Man Bank at the time of my death. Next I leave 
devise and bequeath in trust to my daughter Edith 
Ann & her husband Robert Price the whole of the 
remainder of the aforesaid monies & shares in 
Parr’s Bank and the Isle of Man Bank to be held 
by them in trust for their four children namely 
Robert Douglas Price, Marian Price, Doris Price, 
Richarinal Price during their minority then to 
be equally divided between them. I leave devise 
and bequeath to my daughter ? Florence Catharine 
wife of Robert Edwin Lawson my house and outbuildings 
known as Maycroft including the stable and barn 
and the yard thereto together with the field in 
front of the aforesaid house now occupied by Wm 
Gill and his sister Mis M. B. Gill with all 
watercourses & roadways to & from the same, 
subject to the following conditions namely that 
she pay to my granddaughter Gertrude Quark the 
sum of ten pounds annually so long as my aforesaid 
g’daughter is alive & I also leave devise & 
bequeath to my aforesaid daughter Flonce Catne 
wife of Rbt Edwin Lawson the whole of my household 
furniture books pictures beds & bedding together 
with the whole of my wearing apparal watches & 
jewellery as her own absolutely. I leave devise 
& bequeath to daughter Edith Ann wife of 
Rbt Price the whole of the remainder of my 
real estate of whatever nature or description 
or wheresoever situate or found as her own 
subject to the following conditions namely that 
she pay to my g’daughter Gertrude Quark the sum 
of £10 annually so long as my aforesaid g’daughter 
is alive & I also leave devise & bequeath the 
whole of the remainder of my residual estate 
of whatsovever nature or description or 
wheresoever situate or found to my aforesaid 
daughter Edith Ann wife of Rbt Price on her 
own absolutely & I hereby nominate constitute & 
appoint my son in law Rbt Edwin Lawson of 
Maycroft Cottage Minorca Laxey in the Parish of 
Lonan sole executor of this my last will & 
testament & hereunto subscribe my name this 
seventeenth day of December one thousand nine 
hundred and fourteen. Signed by the said John 
Quark the testator in the presence of us who 
in his presence and at his request & in the 
presence of each other have subscribed our 
names as witnesses.
