In the goods of Daniel Joughin deceased.
Know all men by these presents that we Catharine Anne Radcliffe of No.
25 Falcon Street in the borough of Douglas widow, James Craine of No 10
Thorny Road in the borough of Douglas builder, and Jonthan Quine of the
Strang in the parish of Braddan mechanic, are jointly and severally and
any two of us jointly bound unto our Sovereign Lord the King in the sum
of two hundred pounds to the payment whereof, well and truly to be made to
our said Lord the King, his heirs and successors, we bind and oblige
ourselves jointly and severally, and any two of us jointly, our Executors
and Administrators firmly by these presents.
As witness our subscriptions the eighteenth day of November in the year of
Our Lord one thousand nine hundred and sixteen.
The condition of our obligation is such that if the above named Catherine
Ann Radcliffe (hereinafter called the Executrix) who seeks to obtain a
grant of Probate of the last will and testament of Daniel Joughin late of
No 25 Falcon Street aforesaid Miner but now deceased, who died on or about
the 16th day of October 1916, at No. 25 Falcon Street aforesaid do, when
lawfully called on in that behalf, make or cause to be made a true
and perfect inventory of all singular the personal estate and effects of the
said deceased which have or shall come into her hands, possession,
or knowledge, or into the hands of any other person for her and the same so
made do exhibit, or cause to be exhibited, into the proper Registry in that
behalf whenever required by law so to do:  And the same personal estate and
effects of the said deceased which shall at any time come
into the hands or possession of the Executrix or into the hands or
possession of any other person or persons for her or which without default
might have come into the hand or possession of the Executrix do well and
truly administer according to law, that is to say, do pay the
debts and liabilities of the said deceased, so far as the said personal
estate will extend and the law bind the Executrix then this obligation to
be void and of no effect, or else to remain in full force and virtue.

The executing parties to the foregoing Bond acknowledge the same to be their
Act and Deed.
Before me,   Frank I. Johnson
This is the last will and testament of me Daniel Joughin of Number
Twenty Five Falcon Street in the Borough of Douglas, the the thirteenth day
of October One thousand nine hundred and sixteen.  I hereby revoke
all wills and testamentary instruments hereto before made by me.
 I appoint my eldest daughter Catherine Ann Radcliffe of 25 Falcon
Street in the Borough of Douglas to be my executrix of this my will.  I
direct her to pay all my just debts, funeral and testamentary expenses,
as early as convenient after my decease.
I leave and bequeath to my eldest daughter Catherine Ann Radcliffe
hereto before mentioned and to my youngest daughter Anne Issabella Joughin
the whole of my real and personal estate in equal portions as
may be agreed upon by themselves only.
I give and bequeath to my eldest son Daniel Philip Joughin the sum of
five shillings.
I further give and bequeath to my second son Robert James Joughin the sum of
five shillings and to my second daughter Mary Jane Corlett now residing in
the village of Foxdale the sum of five shillings or such sum
as my executrix feels disposed to give.

Signed published and declared the said testator as and for his last will
and testament in the presence of us who at his request in his presence and
the presence of each other have hereto subscribed our names as witnesses,
this the thirteenth day of October One thousand nine hundred and sixteen.

This Grant is made upon the condition that no portion of the assets shall be
distributed or paid during the War to any beneficiary or creditor who
is a German, Austro Hungarian, Turkish, or Bulgarian subject wherever
resident, or to any one of his behalf, or to behalf of any personal
resident in German, Austria Hungary, Turkey, or Bulgaria, of whatever
nationality without the express sanction of the Lieut Governor acting
through the Treasurer of this Island; and if any distribution or payment
is made contrary to this condition the Grant of Probate or Letters of
Administration will be forthwith revoked.

Upon an application to the Treasurer of this Island there will be no
difficulty in proper cases in obtaining sanction to the payment of a
moderate sum out of assets to beneficiaries or creditors who are
German, Austro Hungarian, Turkish or Bulgarian subjects resident in
this country at the commencement of the War and during the War.

At a District Probate Session held at Peel on the 20th day of November 1916.
The annexed paper writing dated the 13th day of October 1916 having been
proved to be the last will and testament of Daniel Joughin late of
No. 25 Falcon Street in the Borough of Douglas Miner deceased who died
on the 16th day of October 1916 at No. 25 Falcon Street aforesaid. Catharine
Ann Radcliffe also of No. 25 Falcon Street aforesaid widow a daughter of the
testator the executrix therein named is sworn well and truly to fulfil and
execute the same and to administer the personal
estate of the said deceased according to law.
