In the goods of Andrew Jackson late of the town of Ramsey
retired Mariner deceased.

To His Honor Charles Thomas Cheslyn Callow one of His
Majesty's Deemsters and a Judge of the said Division

The humble petition of John William
Hyde of the town of Ramsey advocate.

Sheweth.
Andrew Jackson of the town of Ramsey Retired Master
Mariner departed this life on or about the 10th day of
January 1916 at number 20 Bowring Road in the said town
having first made and published his last will and testament
in writing bearing date the 29th day of May 1914 whereof
he appointed your petitioner executor.

Your petitioner is desirous of obtaining probate of
the said will and of being sworn executor thereunder.

Wherefore petitioner humbly prays
a hearing hereof and that your
Honor may be pleased to grant
probate of the will of the said
Andrew Jackson deceased to your
petitioner with such other and
further relief as is meet.  And
petitioner will ever pray &c	&c.

Ordered that his petition do come on to be heard at a
Court to be held at Ramsey on Monday the 31st day of
January 1916 at 11:00 o'clock forenoon.  Whereof all proper
parties and persons are to have due and lawful notice.

Will of Andrew Jackson late of
20 Bowring Road Ramsey.

Know all men by these presents that we John
William Hyde of the town of Ramsey
Advocate, Charles Kissack of the said
town, Advocates Clerk and William Cannell
of 17 Waterloo Road Ramsey, Accountant
are jointly and severally and any two of us jointly bound unto
our Sovereign Lord the King in the sum of one
hundred pounds
to the payment whereof well and truly to be made to our said
Lord the King, his heirs and successors, we bind and oblige
ourselves jointly and severally any two of us jointly, our
Executors and Administrators, firmly by these presents.

As witness our subscriptions the thirty first day of
January in the year of Our Lord one thousand nine
hundred and sixteen.

The condition of our obligation is such that if the
above-named John William Hyde
(Hereinafter called "the Executor") who seek to obtain a grant
of Probate of the last Will and Testament of Andrew
Jackson late of
the town of Ramsey retired Master Mariner
but now deceased, who died at 20 Bowring Road Ramsey
on or about the 10th day of January 1916

do, when lawfully called on in that behalf, make or cause to be made
a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the personal estate and effects
of the said deceased which have or shall come into his hands
possession, or knowledge, or into the hands of any other person for him
and the same so made do exhibit, or cause to be exhibited, into the proper
Registry in that behalf whenever required by law so to do:  And the same
personal estate and effects of the said deceased which shall at any time come
into the hands or possession of the Executor or into the hands of any
other person or persons for him or which without default might have
come into the hands or possession of the Executor, do well and truly
administer according to law, that is to say, do pay the debts and liabilities 
of the said deceased so far as the said personal estate will extend and the law
bind the Executor, then this obligation to be void and of no effect, or
else to remain in full force and virtue.

This is the last Will and Testament
of me Andrew Jackson of Ballaghennie
in the parish of Bride Gentleman.  I herby
revoke all wills and testamentary writings
at any time heretofore made by me and
declare this only to be my last will and
testament.  I leave devise and bequeath
the whole of my estate both real and
personal of whatsoever kind and wheresoever
situate unto my house keeper Sarah
Bridson absolutely And in exercise of
any power of appointment (if any) I may have
I do hereby absolutely appoint any fund or
funds real or personal estate over which I may
have any such power of appointment to my
said house keeper Sarah Bridson absolutely.

I also direct and declare that any benefit
to be taken by any funds under this my
will or under my said marriage settlement
or otherwise by virtue of the exercise of the 
said power of appointment I may have
thereunder shall be taken by such funds for
her sole and separate use and free from the 
debts control or engagements of any husband
she may at any time have. I declare that

I am domiciled in the Isle of Man.  I nominate
constitute and appoint John William Hyde
of the town of Ramsey, Advocate sole executor
of this my will  And I declare that my Trustee
or Executor hereunder, being an advocate shall
be enabled to charge for all professional work
done by him in connection with the execution of
and Trusteeship hereof in the same manner
as if he had been employed as an Advocate by
my said executor or trustee and not been
named an executor or trustee hereunder.  In
witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed
my name this 29th day of May one
thousand one hundred and fourteen.

provide to be the last Will and Testament
of Andrew Jackson late of No. 20
Bowring Road in the town of Ramsey
Retired Master Marine formerly of
Ballaghennie in the parish of Bride
deceased who died on the 10th day of

This grant is made upon the condition that no portion of the assets
shall be distributed or paid during the War to any beneficiary or creditor
who is a German, Austro-Hungarian, Bulgarian or Ottoman subject wherever resident, or
to anyone on his behalf, or to or on behalf of any person resident in Germany
Austria-Hungary, Bulgaria or Ottoman Empire, of whatever nationality without the
express sanction of the Lieut-Governor acting through the Treasurer of this
Island; and if any distribution or payment is made contrary to this condition
the Grant of Probate or Letters of Administration will be forthwith revoked.

Upon an application to the Treasurer of this Island there will be no
difficulty in proper cases in obtaining sanction to the payment of a moderate
sum out of assets to beneficiaries or creditors who are German, Austro-
Hungarian, Bulgarian or Ottoman subjects resident in this country at the commencement
of the War and during the War.
