Episcopal Will 1600E #075 Michael will of Joney Quall / Quayle alias Cordeige / Cardiff [both surnames were used, with the name 'Jonie Cordaige' written in after the will was written, & also the surname 'Corlett' is recorded for the testator], died 15 January 1599/1600: Summary: husband xxxx Quayle is not mentioned, son & heir Phinlo Quall/Quayle, son John, dau Ann/Annas, dau Joney, witnesses: William Leece vicar, also: Christian Quayle (left a boule of oats), Mary xxxx (left a yard of cloth or 10d). NOTE, the testator is recorded first as 'Jonie Corlett' & then the surname 'Cardyff' was inserted between Jonie and Corlett. A third surname, Cordeige, is written above the the will as 'Jonie Cardeige'. None of the surnames is crossed or scribbled out, and none are repeated in the will.
