See mention of witness Patrick:  Diocese of Sodor & Man, by William Harrison, 1879: Nicholas Thompson was appointed rector of Ballaugh in 1598 (until 
his death in 1640). Buried at Ballaugh, Nov 1640. The register of burials, the oldest in the Island, was commenced by him in his first year, 1598. In 
the 'Lord's Book', 1610, it is stated 'that Patrick Kelly and his substitutes, clerkship of Ballaugh with the profits, etc., the fine under Parson Crow 
to be paid', and 'Lord's Book', 1630, Patrick Thompson, 'the clerkship and profite thereof and fine for twenty-one years.'
