Episcopal Will 1600E #097 German will of Humphrey Scarsbrick comptroller, inventory is dated 15 January 1599/1600:

Daniel Juche/Juke & John Quayle & John Standish & Nicholas Moore & Henry Wattleworth, [The testator owed Henry Stanley deceased Earl of Derby & thus to 
Lady Alice Stanley [alias Spencer?] £26 13s 8d; Ferdinando, son of Henry, became the 5th Earl of Derby, but died after one year in 1594, apparently 
of poisoning, & his wife apparently was Lady Alice Stanley alias Spencer, countess of Derby. After his death, the queen of England, Elizabeth, took over 
the governance of the Isle of Man, until 1609 the her heir King James I granted the Isle of Man to William Stanley, 6th Earl of Derby & brother of 
Ferdinando; William married Elizabeth de la Vere 1515-1627.]
