Son &c: 1639 Liber Assed: Robert Oates had half of a half quarterland [Ballafurt] rent 7s 3d & William Moore had the other half 7s 3d rent in Ars Rogane 
treen (total rent 14s 6d).
   Son: 1643 Composition Book, Santan: [entry #20]: Robert Oates was entered for the 4th part of a quarter of land [Ballafurt], rent 7s 3d, fines 7s 6d, 
   granted for 3 lives; he was dead by the time of the next accounting/composition.
   Son & ?greatgrandson: 1704 Composition Book, Santan: In 1643, Robert Oates compounded the fourth part of a quarterland [that is, half of a half 
   quarterland] called Ballafurt of 7s 3d rent in Ardrogaine treen, and in 1704, Andrew Oates was entered for it, with double rent of 14s 6d, fine in 1643 
   was 7s 6d, with one life in being so to pay now 5s, NOTE, that in 1515, Ballafurt was considered a half quarterland in Ars Rogaine, with Ballacrine the 
   other half quarterland in Ars Rogane, for a total of 4 quarterlands in Ars Rogane, even though the acreage of Ballafurt & Ballacrine were about the 
   same as 2 other quarterlands in the same treen.
   Also: 1704 Composition Book, Santan: In 1643, William Moore compounded another fourth part of a quarterland [that is, half of a half quarterland] 
   called Ballafurt of 7s 3d rent in Ardrogaine treen, and in 1704, John Moore of Ballafurt was entered for it, with double rent of 14s 6d, fine in 1643 
   was 7s 6d, with lives expired, so to pay now 7s 6d.

This decree underwritten recorded in the booke of decrees, and the Inventorie Whearas Rycharde Oates depted this lyfe the xvjth of Februarie untested, the Churche havinge intellegence thereof hathe ordered his children legittimatlie begotten Administrat: vz: Robt, Thomas, Christian, Margarett and Maryott Oates, And a legasie to his wyffe at the sighte of the Inventorie, Robt and Christian supvisors of the yonger chyldren Invent before the ffeast of John baptist sub pena decretum et solvit ijs xs[10s] ad usum Doimorum plege for Robt, to bringe in a true Inventorie and to annswer the same sub pena doble value of the Invent, doim: Johanen Oates Invent in the paper before the decree
