Frances Lange [?OR Costeen & she married xxxx Lange, OR she is living at Lang/Dreemlang, OR mother Jane 1st married xxxx Lang?], father in law (Sir Edward 
Crowe), mother in law Ann [Christian], uncle Edward Crowe, Aunt Catharine Costeen; uncle John Costeen; father, female child, supervisors:  William Corlet 
of Glentramman & the testator's uncle John Costeen, witnesses: John Standish & John Crowe, NOTE, the Will clearly records his name as William Costen; the 
old Typed Index records his name as William Cottean. 
   Contract Bargain between the parents of the wife of the testator & the parents of the testator: dated 30 Jun 1665: Sir Edward Crowe & wife Ann 
   [Christian] made a contract bargain Daniel Costeen & wife Jane [Crowe] regarding their granddaughter Margery Costeen, the underage daughter of 
   deceased William Costeen (ArW 1665A #028 Lezayre] & Isabel Costeen alias Crowe.

alive, dau in law (widow) Isabel Crowe owed 20s (she remarried xxxx Dennison by 20 September 1666), dau Francis Lange [?OR Costeen, & living in Lang/
Dreemlang, OR married xxxx Lang, OR testator Jane 1st married xxxx Lang] owed 16s & a petticoat & a sheep & a lamb, son [William] Costeen is dead [ArW 
1665A #028 Lezayre], John Costeen owed 6d, Catharine Costeen owed a debt, Elizabeth/Bessy Crowe owed 6d, Edward Crowe owed a debt, pledges: William Corlett 
& Thomas Crowe, and also William Garrett who was replaced by Edward Gell.
Will of mother: ArW 1667A #18 Lezayre will of Jane Costeen alias Crowe, dated 20 February 1667/8, name recorded as Jane 'Corten' in the old Typed Index, 
but is clearly write as 'Costen' in the Will: husband Daniel/Donold Costeen is alive, underage granddau Margery Costeen was being raised by the testator 
Jane & her husband Daniel, dau Frances Lange ?OR Frances Costeen/Frances Lange alias Costeen, son [William] Costeen died 1665 [ArW 1665A #28 Lezayre, he is 
the father of granddau Margery] also: Jane Crowe of Ballnemona, Margery Standish alias Radcliffe [2nd wife of William Standish junior, his will ArW 1670A 
#111 Lezayre], witnesses: John Crowe & Ewan Daughan & William Crowe & Samuel Robinson minister, pledges: William Corlett & Thomas Crowe, also: Robert Crowe 
entered a claim for 40s & 5 yards cloth,  QUESTION, regarding daughter Frances ('my daughter Ffrances Lang'), was she married to xxxx Lang?, OR Was she 
living/working in Lang/Dreemlang, in Maughold & which borders Lezayre?, OR was the testator Jane 1st married to xxxx Lang/Laing?

has his legacy), son Dollin, dau Joney, dau Catharine, Annas Christian the vicar's wife. 
Self & wife & father in law: 1663 Liber Vastarum, Lezayre: Sir Edward Crowe had a parcel of intack land of 18d yearly rent belonging to Grest treen, & he & 
his wife gave to their daughter Elllin [sic, Isabel] & her husband William Costeen the rent by a bargain of contract.
NOTE, The Will clearly records his name as William Costen/Costeen; the old Typed Index records his name as William Cottean.
NOTE, the will scribe in Bride at this time used the Manx custom when recording the surnam of a married woman, that is, recorded her with her maiden 
surname. However, when Jane Costeen alias Crowe, the mother of testator William, signed her name, it was signed only with her married surname. This would 
indicate that sister Frances is Frances Lange alias Costeen. See also Episcopal Will books 1651-1656 Braddan, will of Richard Laine/Lange.

ffirst I committ my soule into the hands of Almighty God my Creater & Redeemer, And my bodie to Xtian buriall &c; Item: I leave & bequeath to my uncle Edw: Crowe one sheep one lambe; It: to my sister Ffrances Lange one sheep one lambe;
