Archdeacon Will 1669A #104 Lezayre will of Edmund Cowle of Aust treen & the Ardonan in Andreas, died 25 January 1669/70:
Summary: wife is alive & remarried by 1673 to William Garrett, eldest dau Ann (of age, married to John Crowe junior by 1673), dau Catharine (of age by 
1681), dau Mally, dau Margaret (of age by 1681), mother in law is alive (owed half a heifer & quarter of a mare & quarter of a colt), brother John Cowle, 
sister Mally Cowle, brother Robert Cowle (supervisor in 1669); witnesses: John Crowe & John Cottier, pledges: brother Robert Cowle & William Martin.  
NOTE: The goods of the underage children were divided between dau Ann & Edmund's widow. In 1681, Ann's husband John Crowe gave dau Margaret & dau Catharine 
half their shares, & William Garrett & wife through Ed: Garrett gave Margaret & Catharine the other half legacy shares.  NOTE, that quarterland in Aust 
treen borders the Ardonan in Andreas, also: John Garrett care for a child for 6 months (2nd husband William Garrett & son in law John Crowe junior paid him 
for it in May 1673), John Martin owed to Edmund the roof of a little house:

Self & father & dau & son in law: 1674 Liber Vastarum, Lezayre: John Cowle had farmland/quarterland of 11s 2d plus 2 parts of 1d in Aust treen, and he was 
dead, and also the 'said John Crowe [sic, Cowle] being dead and also Edmund his son', the right of this rent is fallen by birthright to Ann Cowle & her 
husband John Crowe, who were entered for it in 1674.
Dau & son in law: 1678 Liber Vastarum, Lezayre: Ann [Crowe alias] Cowle had farmland/quarterland of 11s 2d plus 2 parts of 1d in Aust treen, & she & her 
husband John Crowe sold rent of 3d to Ewan Stephen who was entered for the 3d rent in 1678.
Will of father in law of dau Ann: ArW 1656A #50 Lezayre will of Edmund Crowe of Ballacottier in Aust treen, dated 20 December 1655: wife [Ann Cowle] is 
alive [died 1668/9, ArW 1668A #66 Lezayre], dau Catharine (md Patrick Cowle, they have a contract bargain, which specifies that the testator & Patrick Cowle 
would have the gifted land jointly for 34 years), son John (executor), grandson John Crowe, grandson Edmund Crowe, witnesses: Edmund Cowle & John Garrett, 
pledges: Edmund Cowle & John Corlett.
Will of mother in law of dau Ann: ArW 1668A #66 Lezayre will of Ann Crowe alias Cowle, died about 1 February 1668/9: husband [John] Crowe is not mentioned 
[died 1655, ArW 1656A #50 Lezayre], son John Crowe, grandson Edmund Crowe, grandson John Crowe, granddau Margaret Crowe, daughter in law, witnesses Robert 
Cottier & Edmund Cowle.     
NOTE: The names Elsabeth and Isabel are used interchangeably; Elsabeth is not generally the same as Elizabeth.
