Maughald ye 13th of Janu: 1680/ The last will & Testamt: of John Curlad, who departed this life ye day & year above written. Imprs: He committed his soul to God, & his body to Christian buryall. It: He acknwoeldged yt his eldest sonne had already from him in Matrimoniall contract, halfe of all his Lands wtsoever, and halfe of his crop of corne, with half of all geares & implemts (now in his houlding) belonging to husbandry worke; and ye other halfe, his said sonne is to have at ye day of his death. It: He acknowledged yt he had given more over unto his said eldest sonne halfe of all ye utensills in his house, and two Beasts to make up part of a Teame now at prsent & one more at at his latter day. It: He bequeathed unto his eldest daughter his woollen wheele. It: To his youngest daughter a choice sheep, It: To the viccar one mutten. It: He constituted and appointed his five children viz: Daniell, Robt, Jony, Jane, & Mally his Lawfull Executrs: of all ye rest of his goods movable & unmovable Robt: Jony & Jane three of the above Execrs: being witness Jo: Kerrish} at lawfull age, out of consideracon that ye Tho: Corteen} jurat goods of their father will scarce extend to pay the debts have therfore passed over their part therof to their brother Daniel, he haveing undertaken to discharge all debts, and take the Administracon whole upon him self. The goods of ye yongest if any remain after the debts discharged is in the brothers hands, who hath given pledges in form of law John Kerruish & Thomas Corteen Jon: Kerruish one of ye above wittnesses declares by vertue of his oath declares that the Testator sent for him after the above will was made, and tould him that he willed that his eldest daughter should have ye Keade for it was herself yt reared it.
