January 30th 1684/5 In the name of God Amen It Anthony Halsall sick in body but through the mercy & goodness ofGod whole in minde perfect in memory, make this my las will & Testament in form & manner followin, viz: First I give & bequeath my soul into ye hands of Almighty Good & my body to Christian Burial. It: I leave to the poor of Castletown a bole of barley. It: I leave to my son John the chamber & stable in the backe side, earnestly desiring there my not be the least contention or difference between him & his Brother; and in case he do not live in this Island & have a mind to part with ye said chamber, that he let his Bro- ther have it before any other, and moreover I leave my my said said John to the prudence & discretion of his mother. It: I leave my interest in a cow at KK Marrown to Ellen Cote. It: I leave a sheep to young Will Cote It: I leave my grand-child Ellen Wood to the discretion of my Wife. It: As for any debts either due to me or from me, my Wife & son know them all. It: I leave my dead Wife Cath. Halsal & my son Hen Halsall joynt Executors of all my goods moveable & unmoveable, provided my said son be dutiful & obedient to his mother as I hope he will, otherwise I leve him to the providence & discretion of his mother.
