See: AW Moore, Old Manx Families 1889: "Robert Parr who was Rector of Ballaugh from 1640 to 1670, was the son of Robt Parr, Parish Clerk of Arbory, died 1645. His
name is first met with as Vicar of Malew in 1633, where he was succeeded by his brother Thomas in 1640. While at Malew he married Grace, sister of Deemster Robert
Norris, by whom he had issue . . . He was appointed Vicar General in 1646. ... His son John, afterwards Deemster, was the most distinguished member of the clan."
See: AW Moore, Manx Worthies: Robert was Vicar of Malew from 1633 to 1644, and Rector of Ballaugh from 1640 to 1673. He was appointed vicar-general in 1646. ...
The three following were the sons of Robert: Charles (b 1644, d 1684), who succeeded his father as Rector of Ballaugh in 1673.
?William Harrison, An Account of the Diocese of Sodor & Man, 1879: "Vicars of Lonan: Charles Par, appointed 1653. Rector of Ballaugh." NOTE, Harrison
has to be wrong about the Vicar of Lonan being the same person as the Rector of Ballaugh. Harrison indicates the Rector of Ballaugh was born 1644, and
had been the vicar of Lonan, starting in 1653, which made vicar Charles 9 years old when appointed as vicar.
William Harrison, An Account of the Diocese of Sodor & Man, 1879: "Rectors of Ballaugh: Charles Par,
appointed 1670, on death of Robert Parr. Son of Robert Parr, born 3d March 1644."
Will of sister: ArW 1658A #89 Lezayre will of Jane Garrett als Christian als Parr, first husband Thomas Christian (son of Donold/Daniel Christian), 2nd husband
