Jan: ye 26th 1686 Michael In ye name of God Amen. I Wm: Cowley (being sick in body, but of good and perfect memory thanks be to Almighty God for ye same) do make this my last will and Testamt: manner and form as followeth: first I committ my soule into ye hands of Almighty God who made me, hopeing for Salvation through his merits and passion, and my body to Christian buriall. Secondly I bequeath one sheep and one half firlett of meal to be distributed to ye poor. It: I leave two muttons towards ye paymt: of ye Spirituall dues. It: to my son Jo: my heir my share of ye crop of corn together with my pte of ye Team, with all husban dry gears belonging unto ye farm. Itt: to my sd son John one filly. It: I leav unto my kinsman Jo: Cowley and Edw: Taylor six pence apiece. It: to my son Pat: one sheep.
