Archdeacon Will 1686A #01 Lonan will of Catharine Moore alias Kelly alias Knickle alias Scarff, dated 7 December 1686: Summary: 3rd husband Philip Moore (his daughter Mary Moore), other husbands: xxxx Knickle & xxxx Kelly, son Gilbert Knickle, dau Margaret Kelly; witnesses: William Clague & Mary Kewley, pledges: Daniel Cowin & Philip Moore. Will of 3rd husband: ArW 1687A #54 Lonan will of Philip Moore, dated 27 December 1687: wife is not mentioned, son John Moore (has a daughter), son xxxx, son James Moore, son Gilbert, dau Mary Moore (has a marriage contract). Son Gilbert, etc: 1678 Liber Vastarum, Lonan: William Lewney had farmland of 7s yearly rent in Raby treen (total rent 14s), & he died and the right to the land went, by heirship, to his daughter Marriad Lewney, & she & her husband Gilbert Brew sold rent of 6s 10 1/2d to Gilbert Knickle & Philip Cotteen and 1 1/2d rent to Gilbert Knickle. Son Gilbert, etc: 1678 Liber Vastarum, Lonan: Phinlo Coteen had rent of 1 1/2d in Raby treen (total rent 14s), and in 1678, Gilbert Knickle was in possession of the said 1 1/2d rent by virtue of a contraction bargain, & so was entered for it in 1678. Son Gilbert, etc: 1691 Composition Books, Lonan: #46: Thomas Brew in the name of Daniel Lewney was entered for/compounded for farmland in 1643, and in 1691, Gilbert Knickle & Philip Cotteen were tenants of it, with lives in being expired. Son Gilbert, etc: 1691 Composition Books, Lonan: #46: Phinlo Cotteen was entered for/compounded for farmland in 1643, and in 1691, Gilbert Knickle was tenant of it, with lives in being Catharine Cotteen aged 52 years [born about 1639]. ?Grandson Philip & wife &c: 1713, Old Lonan Sales, #54: date 12 October 1713: Philip Knickle & his wife Margaret Quayle and Gilbert Cotteen & his wife Margaret Quay, all of KK Lonan, exchange so that Knickle has a field (called the out field) adjacent to his croft, and Cotteen was to have land & houses belonging to Knickle in the quarterland Ballough, except for croft & house where Knickle lived; witnesses Thomas Brew & Isabel Clague, Court October 1714.
