      Granddau: God's Acre by John Feltham:  Malew: Richd Quirk, 24th June 1778, age 75.  Leonora his wife 5th January 1762, age 60. 
      With their three children Eliz., Thomas, and Leonora.

   Children: Thomas born about 1692, John born 1695, William born 1698 all in Malew.
      Malew parish register: Frances Moore alias Oar remarried to Thomas Bell on 7 May 1706 Malew. 
      Malew parish register: Thomas Moore married Jane Quay 22 Sep 1716 Malew.
      Malew parish register: Jane Moor als Quay Castletown buried 30 January 1740, EpW 1741 Malew decree.
      Malew parish register: children: Elizabeth born about 1717, Edward born 1719, Hugh b.1721, John b.1723, & Frances b.1725.
Husband: 1664 Liber Vastarum, Malew:  William Stoale/Stowell had rent of a pan of 2d rent (total for firma brass 3s 2d) & he was long since dead 
and the pan gone to decay, & therefore to preserve the Lord's rent income, the 2d rent was given to Edward Redfern who had an unrented pan.
Self & husband & sister & father: 1669 Liber Vastarum, Malew: John Griffith had cottages in Castletown of 4s 4d yearly rent (total rent 9s 6d [or 8d]), the right 
of these houses belonging to Margaret Griffith alias Carr late deceased, & she left it by her last will to her son John Griffith who was living then in London, 
if the said John Griffith or his children should come for the rent, otherwise Peter Robinson & Alice Sumpter should be executors of the will, &c, and since John 
Griffith did not come to the Island, nor had anyone heard from him, the said houses remained in the possession of the said Peter Robinson since the death of Margaret 
Griffith alias Carr, & Peter had given them in contraction bargain to his daughter Jane Robinson & her husband Edward Redfern and to Ann Robinson his other daughter 
equally between them, who were now entered for the 4s 4d yearly rent.   
1669 Liber Vastarum, Malew: John Griffith had a parcel of intack land of 1d yearly rent, the right of the intack land belonging to Margaret Griffith alias Carr late 
deceased, & she left it by her last will to her son John Griffith who was living then in Londan, if the said John Griffith or his children should come for the rent, 
otherwise Peter Robinson & Alice Sumpter should be executors of the will, &c, and since John Griffith did not come to the Island, nor had anyone heard from him, the 
said intack land remained in the possession of the said Peter Robinson since the death of Margaret Griffith alias Carr, & Peter had given it in contraction bargain 
to his daughter Jane Robinson & her husband Edward Redfern and to Ann Robinson his other daughter equally between them, who were now entered for the 4s 4d yearly rent. 
1680 Liber Vastarum., Malew: Peter Robinson had cottages of 2s yearly rent, and he was dead, so that the right to the said rent fell to his daughter Jane Redfern 
alias Robinson & her husband Edward Redfern with Frank/Frances Orr/Oar his grandchild & others, & they sold the rent on the cottages to William Fox.
1704 Composition Book, Malew: In 1643, Mary Lucas/Clucas was entered for / compounded for cottages in Castletown, that is, house & garden of 17 1/2d rent, 
and in 1691, John Redfern & Thomas Redfern were entered for it, fine in 1643 was 8s, lives expired in 1691, so to pay now in proportion 8s.
1704 Compostion Books, Malew, cottages #52: Thomas Redfern & John Redfern had rent of cottages on West Market Square.
Dau in law (wife of son John) & her 2nd husband: Southside Sales, Old Malew Deeds, bundle 1 #16: David Hutchin 
gave to Catharine Redfern by marriage contract certain rents.
Southside Sales, Old Malew Deeds, bundle 2 #47:  date 12 May 1711: A dispute occurred between Thomas Redfern and David Hutchin/Hudgeon the 2nd husband of Catharine 
Redfern alias Taylor (widow of John Redfern, the brother of Thomas), both of Castletown regarding the division of certain houses formerly belonging to Edward Redfern 
& wife Jane Robinson (their parents), of 4s 7d rent; They agreed as follows: Thomas Redfern & wife would quit any title in the smithy, & were to have liberty in David 
Hutchin's garden to carry water from the well, & Redfern for his own convenience was to keep a door on the passage to the well and the water in the backside to run in 
its usual place through the south corner of the Brewhouse into the common street, witnesses: William Thompson & Silvester Huddlestone & Robert Maddrell; the setting 
quest split the rent as follows: David Hutchin 2s 11.5d, & Thomas Redfern 1s 5.5d rent.  Court June 1713.  NOTE, that David Hutchin married widow Catharine Redfern 
alias Taylor on 1 July 1704.
Granddau Leonora & her husband: South Side Sales Malew, May 1739, #89: dated 25 January 1738/9: Richard Quirk (cordwainer, of Castletown) & his wife Leonora Redfern 
sold for £6 to Robert Bridson (Ballavane, Malew) their cottage house or broken walls in Church Street, rent 19d, adjacent to John Clark on one side & Robert Fayle 
on the other, lately purchased from Alice Ledwick, an executrix of John Norris, witnesses: John Clark & Robert Brown.
Great Coates Rectory, Lincolnshire: Captain Thomas Redfern of Castletown married Miss Jane Harley. The former died in 1749, the latter in 1742. They had issue Thomas 
Redfern, Leonora Redfern, John Redfern. Thomas Redfern eldest son of Jane & nephew of Robert, Earl of Oxford, married Miss Alice Maddrell said to be a considerable 
heiress of the time from whom is descended the late Leonora Cannell, mother of the Miss Cannell's of Malew Street & who now live in the house built by Mr. Harley. 
Leonora Redfern daughter of the said Jane & niece of Robert, 1st Earl of Oxford, married Richard Quirk of Castletown, grandfather of Leonora, Elisa, Margaret, & 
Richard & James Quirk. John Redfern, youngest son of Jane & nephew of Robert, Earl of Oxford, married Martha, daughter of Sir Joshua Woods of xxxx, Lancashire, from 
whom Frederic Jellet, Mrs John Quayle & Mr Holmes are descended.  --J.F.Q. [James Francis Quirk], Nov 20,1902.
