German ffeb: 14th 1686/7 In ye name of God Amen, I James Cowle being weak in body but of perfect memory praised be God, doe make this my last will & testamt: in manner following: first I committ my Soul to God & my body to Christian buriall; I leave to my grandson Patrick four beast towards a plow yt is to say three oxen & a horse; & also all my part of ye crop of corne & all lands & houses what ever belonging to me if I die within a year. It: I leave to my grand daughter Bahie Cowle an oxe to Henry Gells in Daubie, & a maire of 4 years old. It: I leave to my granddaughter Margrett a cow, & an horse colt of 3 years old; It: to my foresd grandson Patrick a cow called dowag, because he saith yt one of ye 3 oxen is his own by his fa= thers death. It: to my granddaughter Marie Cowle an heiffer of 3 years old at Hen: Gells in Daubie, and a horse colt of a year old. It: I leave to Ann Cowle a couple of goates wch was due to her, & a heffer. It: to ye minister a mutton. It: to Thomas Harrison I acquitt all reckonings betwixt him & I. It: to John Harrison a mutton. It: to Gilbt: Crain ye boy a lamb & to be carefull of a sheep. It: I leave all ye rest of my goods to satisfie my foresd grandchildren their part of goods due to ym by their father yt is to say, as much thereof as was in mine hands which said grandchildren vizt: Patrick Bahie Margrett & Marie Cowle I constituted & appoint my Executors James Cowles mrk J Testes Sam Watleworth} John Harrison } jurati Patrick Cowle one of ye Execrs: is sworne in Court according to Law & to be faithful to ye other Execrs: pbatum est et solvit 1s The Invent: Agt ye next Court sub paena 10s ad usum Dmi: The Execrs have their goods in their own hands excepting ye youngest whose pt of goods being 25s is in ye hands of her brother Patrick.
