Archdeacon Will 1688A #53 Patrick will of Margaret [most likely given name] OR Catharine Gell alias Moore, died 23 January 1688/9:
Summary: husband xxxx Gell is alive, dau Ellin (underage), 2 sons (underage), brother William, sister Ann,
'gossip'(?godmother) Joney Quirk, witnesses: John Quirk & Joney Quirk; pledges: Henry Quilliam & John Quirk.
?Will of father: ArW 1678A #40 Patrick will of William Moore: wife Elizabeth, son & heir William (of lawfull years), 5 other children: Isabel (in Ireland),
Margaret, Thomas (underage), Elizabeth (underage), & Ann (underage); witnesses: William Cooper & Robert Quilliam & Samuel Wattleworth; pledge William Kermode.
NOTE: It is extremely unlikely that two given names were given at birth to this testatrix. Also, when 'Cathrine' was written above 'Margt', the name 'Margt' was
not scratched out, which would be expected if the scribe realized that 'Margt' was a mistake, with 'Cathrine' then added above it as a correction. Why 'Cathrine'
was written above 'Margt' is a mystery. A will was found (ArW 1678A #40 Patrick will of William Moore) that lists William & Margaret & Ann as children; there is
no Archdeacon will that lists William & Catharine & Ann as children, etc. In fact, through 1688, there is no Catharine Moore listed in any of the Archdeacon wills
of Patrick or of German parishes.
