burials, the oldest in the island, was commenced by him in his first year, 1598. In the 'Lord's Book,' 1610, it is stated 'that Patrick Kelly and his substitutes, 
the clerkship of Ballaugh with the profits, etc., the fine under Parson Crow to be paid;' and 'Lord's Book,' 1630, Patrick Thompson 'the clerkship and profite 
thereof and fine for twenty-one years.'
