Know all men by these presents that I Robt Kneale of KK Malue liveing in Ballasalla, as well for my naturall affection, and fatherly love wch I have & bear unto my sonn in lawe Patt Waterson, and my daughter Margarett his wife as allsoe for divers other good causes & considerracons meatt this present eff---[dark edge] =tially mooveinge; Have given and granted, and by these presents doe give, grant and confirme unto mysd son in lawe Patt: Waterson & his wif & their Issue all and singuler my pte of the housses, gardens and croftes cittuated and being in, and about the towne of Ballasalla aforsd, or any other manner of goods, or chattell belonge unto me in any wise, To him the sd Patt: his wife & Issue for ever: To Have and to hold, all and singuler the sd houses, gardens, or Croftes, together with all ye sd goods, or chattles, of wt nature, or quallitie soe ever they be, to his & ther own proper uses & behoofe, for ever freely, & quiettly to posess, without any manner of Claime, Challence, or demand of me the sd Rob: Kneale or of any other pson, or pssons wtsoever claimeinge under me, or by my cause, or procuremt, The Right Honrable Lord of the Soyle only excepted; he the sd Patt: payeinge the Lords rentt, with all other dutyes and costoms incombent upon ye premisses upon ye rent dayes formerly accostomed to be pd: And the sd Patt: Waterson doth allsoe in Lewe and Considerracon of this Deed of Gifft, ffirmely by these presents bynd himselfe to maintayne, and keepe his sd ffather in lawe Robt: Kneale with meat drinke apparrell, and lodgeinge dureinge his naturall Life, as allsoe to attend him in his sickness, and health, accordinge as his ould age, and infirmities may any way requier, and as they shall in any waye best be able, all wch may be seen att ye sight of two honest neighbours, or more if need requier: And for ye pformance of all wch premisses I the sd Robt: Kneale have by these presents, put my sd son in law Patt: Watterson & my sd daughter Margarett his wife in full & peceable possession, of all & singuler the above menconed premisses, by the deliver unto him att ye ensealeinge herof, one coyned peece of silver called six pence, ffixed on the seale of these presents In witness wherof, we have hereunto caused our names to be subscribed and affixed our seales this 26th of Novembr: 1685 Signed sealed and delivered Robt: Kneale his seale in the presence of us Patt: Waterson his seale Charles Moore Margarett Waterson her seale Robt: Stoole his marke X John Ffarrantt his marke F Tho: Cuddy his marke X [next page, written on the back of the above:] 29th June 1688 The wthin witnesses have deposed ye wthin deed to bee ye act & deed of ye wthin Robt Kneale, Patr: Waterson & Mrgt: Waterson & signed, sealed, & delivered by them, in their presence, & all this before Tho: Norris This Deed being proved before ye Deemstr: the same is accepted of as ye last will & testamt of Robt Kneale, & his son Patr Waterson is sworne in court in form of Law who hath given pledges secundum forman legis John Barry Acceptum est et Solvit
