John & his father in law: 1656 Liber Vastarum, German: Robert Craine had a parcel of intack land of 8d yearly rent, & he was dead so that half of it fell to Gilbert 
Craine by sale (which he sold to John Shimmin who was entered for 4d rent in 1656) & half fell to Margaret Craine the sister of Gilbert Craine by executorship with 
her husband Richard Halsal, and they sold it to Nicholas Kewley who was entered for 4d rent in 1656.
Brother John senior & father & mother: 1656 Liber Vastarum, German: Phinlo Shimmin & wife Ellin Killey had a mill (firma mollend, total rent of 13s 4d) of 3s 4d rent 
& 3d 4d rent & 3d 4d yearly rent, & Phinlo was dead so that his son John Shimmin was entered for the same, reserving the right of Ellin during her widowhood.
Brother John senior etc: 1656 Liber Vastarum, German: John Gell had a rent of 1d yearly rent in a mill (firma mollend, total rent of 13s 4d), 
and he sold the same to John Shimmin who was entered for it in 1656
Brother John senior & son: 1663 Liber Vastarum, German: John Shimmin had farmland of yearly rent of 11s in Lambfell treen (total rent of 22s), & 
he was dead without issue, so that his nephew Thomas Shimmin was entered for it in 1663.
John & deceased brother John senior & son Thomas: 1664 Liber Vastarum, German: John Shimmin [senior] had rent of 5s in farmland in Lambfell treen (total rent of 5s 6d), 
and he was dead so that it fell to his nephew Thomas Shimmin (son of John Shimmin), reserving the right of brother John Shimmin [junior] if he can make any appear.
Father & son: 1666 Liber Vastarum, German: Phinlo Shimmin had a parcel of intack for 6d yearly rent, 
belonging to Balladoyne treen, and in 1666, Hugh Shimmin was entered for it (plus 6d more).  
Self: 1665 Liber Vastarum, German: John Cubbon had rent in a mill (firma mollentd) & his son Thomas Cubbon sold the rent to John Shimmin for 3s, 
so that now John Shimmin was entered in 1665 for the yearly rent of 7s 1/2d.

German This is affirmed to be ye last will & testamt: of John Shimin who departed this life ye 29th of October 1689, being in perfect memory at ye making thereof, first he committed his soul to God and his body to Christian buriall. Itm: to his son in law Willm: Quaile a stirke a year old and a sheet Itm: to every of his grandchildren a lamb; Itm: to his grandson John Shimin a little pott & a rackentree wch he lately had bought for heirship. Itm: to his daughter Margrett four pounds. Itm: to his son Hugh an oxe, & a riding horse to discharge all reckonings & accounts debts & demands yt were betwixt them. Itm: to his said son Hugh all ye houses & grounds with ye millne, to wch his wife Mable Shimin als Cannell gave her full consent & assent, & gave & surrendred all her part of goods to her foresd daughter Margrett reserving only to her own use twenty shillings to be disposed of at her latter day, her foresd son Hugh keeping & maintaining her during her naturall life; Lastly he constituted & appointed his foresd daughter Margrett sole Executx: of all his goods move= able & unmoveable The Executr: at age is sworn in Court according Testes John Saile } to Law Issabell Killip} jurati pbatum est et solvit 1s The Inventory is included in ye portion given to ye Executx: in ye will, to witt 4£ Pledges according to Law Hugh Shimin and John Crellin
